Win the tournament. It happen ten years ago with a class that isn't the best class ever. So I assume it should happen. Its like waiting for the cookies to be done. I forgot the timer oh well.

I've really tried hard to get on board all season. There are literally fewer things in life that I was hoping for this year more than a tournament appearance for this team. Tonight was the end. F you, Mooney. You're a fraud. I've had enough once and for all. You can also expect a bill for the $150 light fixture I just broke in my house.

Will we make the tournament? I’ve gotten asked that a bunch recently. But it’s “Dad will we make the tournament this year?”

Would be nice to answer Yes some year.

at large was a long shot anyway. Hopefully grant gets the finger healthy before the tournament. Fortunately (Sadly?) we still have at least one more “win or go home” game left. I still want to believe in this team. Here’s to hoping for the right matchups in the tournament

Here's to hoping for a new coach. Oh that seems a bit far fetched. I am sorry. I can't seem to find the cash to buy out Mooney. Its like finding buried treasure x marks the spot.

Shouldn't be a problem with the fixture. He can buy approximately 10,000 of those suckers.

He’s not getting better before the end of this year. Bob noted on the pregame show that he’s going to need surgery post season, so it’s just a pain tolerance thing now.

Here we are again, having to win the automatic qualifier to get in. Whats changed?

I've said it before. We have a better chance to get in the tournament if we were in the CAA. Or whatever league Longwood and VMI are in.

Think what you want and dream all day...

Thats unfortunate, i missed that info. Definitely makes sense for a broken finger. I think our best option is to find a way to win with Sal/Grace holding down the 5 if this is how it affects grant

I'm with u EL, though have to admit I had a little more skepticism this year. Mooney disappoints year after year after year. Sorry kneepad, we should try to focus on the fact that Mooney does not suck??

Mooney, as usual, has the attitude of a loser.

"We were playing against a team coming off two losses who’s fairly desperate."

That's how he explained this loss.

They were "fairly" desperate. Are you kidding me? So what the hell were we? Just happy to be in the Midwest for a night, taking in the sights? Jesus Christ man. We should have been the most desperate team in the country. Or did you forget how every analyst ranked us in the top 25 preseason, how we were picked to win the league, all those glowing articles about the redemption tour? Considering how far we've fallen from that, you might think desperation would have been a motivator for us. But I guess not. Just another night without aggression, intensity or enough motivation to do something unexpected for once and win a game we absolutely had to have.

I don’t even want to think how bad next year will be. Goose and Burton playing by themselves with no guards and no big men. Makes you shiver. I will be surprised if Burton stays.

It seriously sends a cold shiver down my spine to think about what next season will look like. I'm going to try to not even think about it which would just ruin the next 7 months 🤬

On a broadcast of some game last night Doug Gottlieb said he thinks they won’t have an NIT this year, but that just haven’t announced it. So this senior class will likely never play in the post season.

although I recognize Grant was clearly hurting, and he was trying to tough it out, he simply wasn’t tough enough. He was tough enough to use the hand to dribble on the offensive end, but not tough enough to use it to rebound or grab the ball on the defensive end. Not tough enough to try and secure the best chance he and his teammates will ever have to play in the tournament. I do not want to be laying this all at the feet at Grant but it simply wasn’t tough enough. And I can’t fathom why Jacob or someone didn’t get in his ear and just be like “come on big fella we need you”. Or why he wasn’t subbed out for defense for Sal when it became obvious that he wasn’t going to overcome the injury.

I just can’t picture a VCU player being on the floor with a broken finger and only using one hand to try and rebound.

From The Athletic's latest bubble watch article:

Richmond (12-7, 6-5; NET: 54, SOS: 78): On Monday night, Richmond played its final game of the regular season. This game took place at home, against Saint Joe’s, which has a NET ranking of 234. Richmond lost this basketball game. This is … really bad. Catastrophic, probably. This résumé still has some strengths, including a neutral-court win over a Loyola Chicago team with a NET ranking of 16th in the country, plus wins at Kentucky (which has improved in stature) and Davidson. But Monday night was Richmond’s second Quadrant 4 loss. It already had one! Two is untenable, and will probably cost this team — a group of veteran players who looked headed to the tournament a year ago — their chance to come good. That one hurts.

“I just can’t picture a VCU player being on the floor with a broken finger and only using one hand to try and rebound.”

UR has been one hand or no hand rebounding for 16 years now.

Sad this thread has no relevance for Spider fans but no reason to continue discussion for the schools that their teams truly have a glass half-full.

Oregon State and Georgetown bursting bubbles! Haven't looked at the projected brackets for a second till today, but JoeyL shows 37 P5/6 schools in while CBS and team rankings have 39 out of the 68.

Watching the LSU-Bama game. LSU’s rebounding looks like ours.

LSU has 21 defensive rebounds and Bama has 18 offensive rebounds. Crazy

LSU has also shot (and missed) two straight 3’s from the logo with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. What the hell is Will Wade teaching them
