What are we doing with this program?

Maybe Mooney's plan is to fill in the hole in our list of NCAA accomplishments. We have won as a 12, 13, 14 and 15 seed, but not as a 16 seed. It is very hard to make the NCAA tournament from the A10 and get a 16 seed.

The only way to win the A10 tournament and get a 16 seed is to have essentially no wins during the regular season since you will need to beat some good teams to win the A10 tournament which are more impressive wins than most 16 seeds have. This year is ideal for the 16 seed gambit since the A10 is very weak and winning the A10 tournament will not result in too many good wins. To make sure we get the 16 seed Mooney is playing it safe and going for the most regular season losses possible.

When we get to the A10 tournament Mooney will unleash the full potential of the team, winning the auto bid and putting us in position to be the first 16 seed to win a game in the NCAAs.

This team ain't beating a one seed.
Maybe we'll win a game as a 16 if we are in the First Four, or whatever that abomination is called - but we'd be playing another 16.

Even though there's zero chance of it happening, I feel as if this scenario would be the ultimate flipping of the double bird by Mooney to all of us. Suck all year long, get hot for a few days and win the tournament, then stay hot for one day and pull the biggest upset in the history of the tournament. We could never get rid of him after that. And then we would go back to consistently missing the tournament again.

As much as I'd like to see us be the first 16 to win a game in the NCAA, I don't think even if we miraculously won the A10 tourney to make it into March Madness I doubt we'd be rated as a 16. Maybe would could move to the Big South.

That is why we have to lose as many games as possible during the regular season, to guarantee a 16 seed in March.

Just wanted to bump this one. Came home from the nice win on Saturday, feeling better about 3 straight and up to 6-13 in the record book and took my first dive into the conference standings and watched some of the Goo Moo v Duquesne game.

This program has truly made me insane.
Thank you kind sir, as you can see dis program has left me perfectly sane.

Please leave the PBR by the dumpster per the usual spot and time. Last time too early and was gone. please.

Maybe you should try further from campus so it stays longer?

In all seriousness, we've had such a bad season that my expectations are incredibly low. For the first time in a long time, I can actually sit back and enjoy the games without my blood pressure being on a rollercoaster ride. Now it's a relaxed, stress free ride and I'm not living and dying with each shot.

What are we doing with our program? Hopefully not what Lasalle may be doing.

Remember La Salle has larger institutional issues...been dealing with enrollment drops and budget problems for years. They just slashed tuition list price which helped bump enrollment this year, but generally a tuition reset like that isn’t a good long term strategy. They’re now trying to sell off some of the art collection from their museums.

They may be deciding they need to cut back on athletic expenses and won’t be able to keep up in the A-10.

Yep. Athletics at the D1 level loses money for over 90% of schools. La Salle is on the verge of shutting down, they need to cut costs wherever possible. Would not be surprised to see the school close down within the next 10 years. Very different situation than ours.

Firm is more likely there to find way to unload the financial burden of Dr. Gs salary. That may be their largest single line expense. It may be only way to save institution.

The A10 should look at adding new members if la salle and Fordham leave. I don't know who would be a potential new member though. Charleston maybe?
