The main reason the bench isn't scoring more is because 4 of our starters are shooting the light out. Through the 1st 3 games Cayo's shooting percentage is 73%, Sherod's 57% and 54% from 3s, Gilyard's 56%, and Golden's 50% (it would be much higher if you excluded the 3s). Those are some pretty good numbers to compete against. My guess is that if they have a bad night others will pick up the slack.

are we rebuilding for the future or not? We have to develop a bench and future players, We played 7 players and 0 points from the bench.

Gilyard 27 second half points saved us but he can't do that game after game.

Depends on your prospective. Mooney is coaching for his job (future) this year. It will be interesting to see how, when, or frequency of playing his bench.

Will be a referendum on Mooney on how he plays Gilyard. Will he run him into the ground hoping to save his job or will he give his best player a chance to rest and thus improve the team.

well, some here love to say that the staff reads these boards. if they do, then they probably feel they need to coach every game like it's game 7 of the World Series.

Don't worry Loyola-Chicago will shock us back into reality. Just like Longwood did.
You think so? If the Spiders play D (big if) it will be fine. Gilyard is the key and his playmaking can get good looks for perimeter shooters. If he is on this game will be a toss up and UR can win. Mooney needs to go with Gilyard, Sherod, Wojcik, Cayo, Golden and JJ for the majority of the game. This game is not a time to test the bench for more than a couple spot minutes. Just my opinion on that but overall if Gilyard is free and running this is winnable. Longwood is in the rear view mirror and poor showings happen for lots of teams in November. Carry over from the last game is all that matters.
