The Fight in Ukraine and its Heroes

Trump had the chance to be the leader of the free world and the bulwark against Communist aggression. He has squandered this opportunity.

Musk only cares about what American can offer, or do, for him.
Early in the Ukrainian war, Musk offered Starlink to the Ukrainians free of charge. It was a moment of clarity and moral courage. Zelensky should invite Musk to build Telsa plants in Ukraine.

Trump is beginning to see what negotiations are like with a Putin at war. Trump is coming off as weak.

Putin continues to hold the temporary ceasefire hostage, likely to extract further concessions from US President Donald Trump and delay or spoil negotiations for an enduring peace in Ukraine.

Putin made Trump wait an hour for their meeting yesterday. Putin has no respect for Trump, as evidenced when he allowed Russian state television to post nude pictures of Melania after Trump won the election. And I'm sure his opionion of Trump is declining every day while he watches Trump destroy America and our standing in the world.

Putin has no respect for Trump, he knows he can play him like his personal toy. And he does.

Trump terminates the program used to track Russian abductions of Ukrainian children. This is a key part of the investigation of Russian war crimes.

He's nothing more than a Russian agent. What ever Putin and the Russians want, they get from Trump and Gabbard.

From Mick Ryan, former Brigadier General in the Australian Army...

Peace Negotiations. The injection of Trump into peace negotiations for the war in Ukraine continues to exhibit elements of farce and gullibility on the part of U.S. negotiators. This week, the American negotiating position was further compromised when the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, uncritically amplified a full range of standing positions of Putin about the war in Ukraine.

In an interview conducted on March 21, the Witkoff stated that Russia "reclaimed" five regions in Ukraine — Crimea and Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson oblasts — and that Russia "has gotten what it wants" and will not want more. Lots to examine here, with the most obvious point of critique being that Russia has not re-claimed this provinces because they weren’t Russia’s to reclaim. These are Ukrainian territory. The only thing Witkoff did here was to align himself with Putin’s frequently expressed view throughout this war, and beyond, that Ukraine is not a real state.

By the way... this is a direct result of Trump cutting off aid and assistance after the Trump and Zelensky blow-up in the Oval Office in February. The Himars the Ukrainians were using suddenly went dark. The Russians were able to advance. Trump is not a master negotiator. He is a petulant jerk.

The Frontline. After the significant events on the Kursk front in the past couple of weeks, events this week appears to return to the more normal tempo of operations on the ground in most parts of the frontline.

The Russians are continuing their assaults on the final Ukrainian positions in Kursk, although they have largely achieved their strategic goal of kicking the Ukrainians out of Russia before any peace negotiations about territory take place.

I'm not sure how you or anyone else who voted for Trump can be surprised by his treatment of Ukraine and his siding with Russia. Trump indicated on numerous occasions prior to the election that he was not going to support Ukraine, and his own VP said he "could care less about Ukraine". And the Republican party of Putin will do nothing to stop Trump from giving Putin what Putin wants. If any Republicans speak out against Trump and the Ukraine policy, they will be primaried and singled out personally so they can receive death threats and harassment, like everyone else Trump targets.

An over-whelming majority of Republicans in the Senate and the House are in favor of a muscular foreign policy directed at Russia, China, Iran and NoKo. Statesmen like Lindsey Graham have direct access to Trump. We are just not privy to these conversations. Trump's son, Don, Jr., unfortunately has a lot of influence over the President.

So what is Trump going to do now? It's time for Trump to grow some stones. Putin is drafting another 160,000 (announced) people into his army. Everyone knows it will more than that.
