Chris Stewart was introduced as Richmond's director of strength and conditioning in February 2009, joining the staff after an 11-year stint at the University of Tennessee, including his last five as associate strength and conditioning coach. At UT, he served as Graduate Assistant, Assistant and Associate Head Strength Coach.

At Richmond, Coach Stewart is directly responsible for the strength and conditioning of the Spider football program.

He is an Approved Mentor for the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the former Director of the UT Strength and Conditioning Clinic, one of the nation's largest and longest running strength clinics involving 800 coaches and athletes.
Stewart assisted with the UT football program, while serving as the primary strength coach for the Vols' nationally-acclaimed track & field team and worked year-round with former Vols in the professional or Olympic ranks.

Stewart earned a sport management/exercise science degree from Western Carolina in 1998 and completed his master's from UT in 2001. He is certified through the College Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

Stewart is married to the former Sherry Briggs of Fayetteville, N.C., and the couple has a son, Cole, and a daughter, Lily.

Ken Hart enters his 34th year as a member of the Richmond Athletic Department in 2014. Hart manages the day-to-day operation of the Equipment Room for the University's 19 varsity sports and its nearly 500 student-athletes.

A 1975 graduate of Bowling Green State University, Hart came to Richmond after a two-year stint as the equipment manager at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Prior to that, he spent three years in the same position at Ashland (Ohio) University.

Hart, who was recognized as the Glen Sharp Equipment Manager of the Year in 1993, is a 32-year member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. He served as its president for six years from 1988 to 1994 and was involved in the creation of the degree of certification for athletic equipment managers.

Hart resides in Richmond with his Peggy. They have two sons -- Tyler, a Richmond grad, and Kip.
 
CHRIS STEWART is the critical cog in the wheel of UR football success as players get in football ready shape leading up to the beginning of preseason practice in August.
