Blake Francis on board. Good addition but does not help for the coming season.
What about Sy Chatman. I think would be an excellent pick up, but I don't believe would be an impact guy as a freshman.
Anyone know of any grad transfers we are involved with?

With KF off, do we have 2 or 3 spots remaining (after the addition of Francis). Like to see a grad transfer (preferably, ya know, one that can actually step in and make an impact), Sy, and maybe a guard.

currently 2.

currently 2.

So Sy and a grad guard would be ideal for me.

With Sal, Nate, Grant, and hopefully Ford, we should have a decent rotation at the 4/5.

Buck, Sherrod, Julius, Nate, grad transfer and one of Sy/Current Bryce would give decent rotation at the 2/3.

Then Superman Gilyard with a few minutes from maybe Buck/Julius/grad transfer solidify the 1.

Now getting to the afternoon of the 12th and no one else has signed...not inspiring optimism.

Why are people assigning some important value to April 11th? If a player had not verbally committed to a school before then there is no reason to expect anyone to sign on the first day of the signing period. None of are targets have committed anywhere else since April 11th either. If we don't have anyone signed by May 16th then there is reason to worry.

because 4/11 meant little. if it was some big day, Sy and the other available players would have signed. but feel free to bring this up every day through 5/16.

As many of you probably know, we will wake up on 5/17 in the blink of the eye, and some will be touting the acquisition of Elhadji Dieng as a key roster fortification.

Don't fall asleep Spidernation, 5/17 is around the corner.

Sweet dreams of Elhadji Dieng.

Dieng has tremedous upside ... good length ... solid pickup to backup Golden.

Can't resist this one based on the preoccupation with this team in a different thread - only "rumor" I have heard floated is that the entire projected starting five for Virginia Tech next year is vying for open sports on the Spiders roster...................they remember the difference that Tech transfer Tony Dobbins made for the Spiders particularly the winning shot at the Phog over Kansas and want to have the same type of opportunity!

Meanwhile URI quickly acted to fill a guard spot that was vacated when Adams followed Hurley to Uconn. Meanwhile we are offering 2019 guys and otherwise in a fetal position in the basketball offices. UNBELIEVABLE.

I'm afraid the tick tock now is just the next transfer bomb waiting.

At this point, our best recruiting strategy might be to fire Mooney and hire a current head coach in the hopes that he could bring one or two recruits with him! I'm only half joking.

If nothing else, we should just be saying we are following a bunch of transfers, just so it looks like we are not sitting around the Robins Center doing absolutely jack sh*t. I'm sure some more great practice pics will come out soon though.

Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure picks up another nice recruit.

And lost their best freshmen to transferring as well. I believe they still have 4 or 5 open spots to fill, lots of work left for Schmidt.

Yes, and at least our big off season acquisition will be eligible to play in approximately 580 Days. Getting Pumped!! Great time to be a Spider.
Are Mooney, Miller and Hardt in jail yet?

Just trying to provide a bit of perspective. Our program has not had a good offseason so far, or a good season last year, or the success that most fans expect over the past 7 years, but comparing our flaws solely to the highlights of other programs creates a very distorted view. Other programs have similar problems too, even if they are not the same as ours, and it is important to remember that. Davidson, Dayton, and St. Bonaventure all have just as many or more scholarships left to fill as we do. Other A10 programs have had at least 3 players leave their programs early this offseason, and other programs have lost starters early as well. I am not trying to justify what has happened over the past few weeks to our program at all, it is not good, but it is not a situation unique to Richmond or Mooney.

I'm not an alumnus to other schools so I don't care about them.

I know people are agitated but let’s clean up the language a bit. There are youngsters who read the board.

Well I could have said "fecal matter", but then the kids wouldn't have known what the fecal matter I was talking about.

9 days in, I have not heard of one new prospect for '18 or a grad transfer. SHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you hear the roaring silence on this front.
23, you are the most negative poster on this board. You like to throw out comments designed to get responses that are outrageous. I don’t think you are a UR graduate at all. I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Thanks Fan1, the first bit of evidence of recruiting activity in a while.

Rivercup, do I really really need to go into my evidence of being the most positive Mooney supporter on this board for years and years? I was a positive poster on the board that existed previous to this one. Just because I am not part of the crowd praising average does not make your point.

And who said I have to be a damned graduate to post on here anyway. Can you show me proof that Ivan is a graduate? I'm waiting. He gets to ask all the questions on the call in show, and does anyone have proof of his graduation?

You caught me, the Ramnation/Russian troll farm had me deep cover for about 14 years and have now activated me.

I have never seen someone in a leadership role like Mooney make excuses and fail to take responsibility like he does.
