Now it's time to move on fully to Baseball, Lax Spring Game etc.

No A10 teams left (wow did we prove we only deserved 3 invites..... and we finished with a losing record in what was obviously a weak conference), no real Cinderella's left (maybe Gonzaga qualifies since they had to win their way in).. so the fun is gone. Time to write my letter to Gill and move on.

How does losing games to a 1 and a 2 seed (Oregon in Spokane and Oklahoma in OK City, playing both to the wire) prove we only deserved 3 bids? We won 66% of our opening round games, but poor seeding by the selection committee made the chance to get to the sweet 16 astronomical. If anything, the PAC12 and AAC performances proved they were overrated and took bids from more deserving teams, like Saint Bonaventure.

A-10 won 40% of its games. Two loses were really close. Maybe next year they will play horseshoes instead. Bonnies were beat by the Little Sisters of the Poor in the NIT.

next year or two years from now who's going to look at how close we loss? Our seeding wasn't great but that's what it was. Dayton losing badly to a 500 ACC team doesn't help and I agree, St Bonnie's fold doesn't look good either and defeats the should been in the big dance argument.

We aren't on the level of P5 conferences, obviously, but we have the 6th most wins of any conference this year in the NCAAs. I don't understand the need of some of the posters on this board to find any excuse they can to say the A10 is weak. It is like you can't say enough bad things about our program, coaches, and players, so you extend the negativity to our conference as well. It is crazy that some of you consider yourselves fans.

I really don't understand the purpose of bashing our league. St Joe's almost beat a number 1 seed last night, but should not have been playing a number 1 seed until later in the tournament. St Joe's was criminally underseeded and should have been more like a 5-seed based on what it accomplished this year. VCU almost beat Oklahoma, which a lot of people think will make the Final Four. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they lost, but they almost won. In Oklahoma.

Dayton definitely put up a stinker. But I don't know why anyone would criticize the league overall. The Big East only got one team to the Sweet 16. Xavier was a 2 seed and lost. Villanova was a 2 seed and was expected to make it and did. Providence and Butler lost in the second round just like VCU and St. Joe's did.

X as a 2 went out in round 2.Temple as a 10 went out in round 1.Butler as a 9 went out in 2nd round. All 3 would have fit the A-10 model perfectly.Getting an 8 or 9 seed is the kiss of death.Winner plays a 1.Rams almost pulled it off.Couldn't stop Hield.Joe's the winner of the 8/9 game played out West v Ducks and did well losing by 5.Committee screwed A-10 by placing 2 teams in the 8/9 games-both 2nd round losses.

I'm not trashing the league I'm just disappointed, unlike the power conferences we need to prove ourselves every year and this year was not the leagues best performance. I'd like to see four teams in and 1 sweet 16 team annually. The pressure on the NCAA is always for the power conferences to get 7 in.

I think the problem we face as a league is that the committee always (intentionally?) underseeds our teams, making it more difficult to advance. Had St. Joe's been a 5 or 6 the way it should have been, I suspect it would be in the Sweet 16. Oregon is a very good team and Joe's basically had them beaten (on the West Coast, no less). I think VCU was seeded about right and still almost beat one of the top 6 teams in the country in its home state. It's clear that Bonaventure earned a bid but for some reason the committee took Tulsa instead (mistake).

It all comes down to matchups, seeding and a little luck this time of year. We've had a Sweet 16 team 7 out of the past 8 years before this one, which is not too shabby, IMO.

I am not out to bash the league in general. Just said that after seeing all the teams play this year, IMO, they weren't that good other than St. Joe. I was right.

I think the A10 gets respect, just not as much as it deserves. It's death by a thousand paper cuts when you get one fewer team in like this year or some of your upper tier teams get slightly poorer seeding than the P5 counterparts receive.

There aren't many non-P5 conferences getting 3+ bids regularly which is about what the A10 has done in recent history (no fewer than 3 since 2010). I think the respect really comes when you regularly have teams in the S16 and of course, further in the tournament creates a more lasting imprint.

with the loss recently of x, temple, is our league heading down?

Web, if you go by you're favorite website, Kenpom (Lol) it actually went up to roughly .7000 from .6800 the last year X and Tem were members. Last 2 years numbers have significantly gone down to around .6000. A10 probably will always get the Rodney Dangerfield treatment no matter how good their numbers.
