How about Todd Golden from San Francisco. Maybe he secretly sent Hovde out here to scout out the Richmond area and administration, knowing Mooney might be on the way out, and this would be a good place to come following SF. 1 million in Richmond, VA goes a lot further than 1 million in San Francisco. No idea what he gets paid out there, but he has done a very good job with SF.
Plus he would not have to stop over the human turfs and used needles on the sidewalks like in Dan Fran!

Sorry bad typing! Try this again. He would not have to step over the human poop and used needles on the sidewalks like in San Fran.

Honestly if the school really wanted to make ncaa they would make an in season move. Drastic move time. And I don’t mean anyone on staff either. Call J New. Eastman. Winiecki. Anyone who is free. These guys r 24 years old. It. Is. Not. Working.
That seems drastic. This group is really starting to gel.

Just give it another decade. They'll be rolling by then.

I think it goes without saying but I’ll say it anyway.

Literally no chance that will happen.

Mooney will be up all night after this one......not studying game film but desperately trying to find some loophole in the NCAA bylaws that would allow Grant to return for a seventh year of eligibility.

A real program would try to save itself while there's still a chance. Ours is content to just watch itself wither and die. Someone call Dr. Kevorkian from the grave.

He will try to get Bryce Golden

Nope, he’s going to wake up, still rich. Maybe head up to Home Depot in Short Pump in his free car. Have a nice little Sunday with the family b/c he has the easiest, no pressure job in the world.

Also like Griff Aldrich at Longwood. Interesting background. Someone to keep eye on. Played with Odom at H-SC then coached with him before taking Longwood, in between long private career.

What he's doing at Longwood with no real resources and history is like winning at 70% clip elsewhere imo.

Griff got Longwood undefeated in the Big South. Another nice W today. Hell of a job.

Going to the Tavern tonight!!! For a few drinks everyone join in!!

If St. Louis improves it’s coaching situation before Richmond, that would truly be scary.

Miller would definitely be a solid choice and would help elevate the conference back to where it used to be. The facts are the A10 Conference needs better performance from its teams. The A10 could be a one bid league this year. Mid Major power to mid major meh.

Good to see more comments from outside that say Mooney isn’t cutting it. Maybe judgement by peers will push the administration to act.

But didn’t Miller win 54% and no NCAAs at indiana? ;)
Exactly why we have a shot at him. He's a proven winner in the A10, but the Big 10 didn't work out for whatever reason. Mooney probably would be winning more in the Ivy League, but the A10 is not working out for him.

isn't Archie related to Sean?...would think our AD might be scared away by this association...but heck if we hired Archie maybe he could make Sean an assistant?

Go Spiders!

Archie has a better chance than Mack but I have no idea how u can’t make the ncaa in 4 years at Indiana. I mean it’s IU.

Maybe it is time to consider King Rice from Monmouth again. They are moving to the CAA next year, so maybe a good time to get him during the transition. He was very successful a few years ago, but then fell back to earth. But this year - I took a look at their schedule and record. They are 13-7 overall - but they have wins over St. Joes, Cincy, Yale, and Pitt. And 4 of their losses came during a COVID period with their time - they loss a game on Dec. 22 and then next 4 games cancelled with COVID, and they return to court over 3 weeks later and lose next 4.

Would not be a flashy hire as they likely will not make the NCAA unless they win MAAC and beat Iona (they did lose by 1 in OT to them). But might be someone on down on the list of considerations and if the first few pass on us or take other jobs - he might be one to keep an eye on the rest of the season.

Intriguing for sure, although I would settle for an actual bowl of rice at this point.

Our next coach will be...this guy.

You can tell read and helped write the Mooney Manual to Coaching and Stealing Money and has implemented the plan to perfection so far.
1. Take over a rebuilding program.
2. Recruit a star player.
3. Have one historically great season.
4. Be named coach for life.
5. Return to a comfortably mediocre level forever.

Wouldn't surprise me. While we are on the subject who do you think will lose @VCU by fewer points this season, that guy or our guy?
