New hospitality area

Only drawback is that you and your guests are facing into the sun with those 3:30 start times-it's the reason the student section was moved from the North to South end especially when Daddy/Mommy are paying $60,000 a pop.

I was wondering who would be the first to find something wrong with this. LOL

They have a bar and TVs. I assume at least one tv will be the spider tv broadcast so you can watch the far end of the field action on the tv. Sounds pretty brilliant to me. Hope they open it up to spider club members for one game.

Some additional info:

All guests must have a ticket for the Red Zone to gain admittance so if you have guests that are season ticket holders they will also need a ticket for the space. Only guests with Red Zone tickets and wristbands will be admitted.

-All catering must be provided by University of Richmond Catering. No outside food or beverage permitted.

-Game Pricing: Minimum of 25 tickets(75 max)

Norfolk State $25

Colgate $35 –Family Weekend

Towson $25

JMU $40

Delaware $25

UR Catering is working on a menu that they should have by mid-Aug. The menu usually consists of two or three full meal options and is priced per person. They will also have some a la carte items. The bar is usually consumption but you can do cash bar. The upfront cost of bar service is $210 ($60 for bartender fee and $150 set up which serves as a minimum cost. Basically the first $150 worth of alcohol consumed).

It is first come, first serve. They are drafting an event contract and there will be a $200 deposit required to reserve a spot. The $200 will count towards your final ticket total.

Enjoy R&B.

I like their trying something new down there.

I do hope we can figure out a way to get Spider Club members to buy a beer a HT.

I am assuming it will be a tented type set-up??

Any drawings or plans as to what it will look like?

Is this only for private parties, or is there going to be an open area where you can meander in and buy a beer?

I rode through campus last week and saw no construction at the end zone where the Red Zone is supposed to be. I am guessing that it will be like a group of tents within an area marked by a distinguishable temporary boundary.

Too bad they can't do something for the Spider Club members, I guess it's always about making money

I'm guessing unsold tents may be purchased by spider club. No real insight just my guess.

Rick, nothing wrong about making money and if you remember there is a hospitality area planned for Spider Club members in the new plans for the second floor of the home side at RS. Of course I am sure there will be donor level for admittance. Just being a Spider Club member would probably not get you in and it shouldn't. I think the second floor area will be handled like the Terrace Levels in the RC. That's what I was told months ago, so I might be off a little.

This is right.

I'm only guessing that probably 90% of the Spider Club members are blue level and below. I'm just saying that maybe offer them something every now and then, like a place where they can go and BUY a beer

My guess is that blue level will probably be the floor to get in, whenever it does occur.

Has anyone been in the end zone hospitality tents? I'm there with a group later in year and just curious of any impressions. I've seen glimpses of it on highlights and looks like they did a pretty nice job with it. Thx.

32, his position has little or no support - why waste your time?

I think it would help if the hospitality area was raised up by about 10 feet or so - would dramatically improve the view. Ground level from the end zone kinda sucks.

I really like the concept though - just needs some tweaks - any report from anybody that has been in them?

Looks like some replies got deleted. 32 had some good feedback. Took a glance last night and was going to reply today. Not sure what happened. I think FRS related...a continual issue on the boards.

32, do the TVs have access to cable for other national college games or is it just SpiderTV? Also I believe it is just beer/wine not mixed drinks but correct me if I'm wrong. Overall I really like the setup and look fwd to it. I won't call it inexpensive but it's a good deal imo too.

I noticed that as well. It also happens when you ignore someone. Can't really follow the dialogue. Sorta curious about what was said, but more so about the responses to the deleted posts.

Actually 05 I found out you can have full bar not just beer/wine if you want. Folks from UR Athletics and UR Catering are very professional and have done a nice job with this. Haven't been there yet but in dealing with them in setup I've been impressed.
