and the announcers are even worse than our passing - they don't even try in terms of knowing the playersMy gosh how many cross court passes can we try to throw right through defenders. Amazed that Gw is only about 50/50 picking them off.
These announcers think Mooney is John Wooden reincarnated.and the announcers are even worse than our passing - they don't even try in terms of knowing the players
Are you not feeling the vibes?Considered benching myself from starting game threads for the rest of the year .... The one thing I know is that we won't be beat by the Colonials on Wed night. Go Spiders ...
GW had 12 offensive rebounds. Castro had 7, three of which he put back for layups or got fouled and made a foul shot. Richmond seems perfectly content to just throw up threes with little or no attempt to work the ball inside. This may be because everyone is near or outside the three point line for the vaunted "Princeton offense." I wonder what Pete Carill would say if he saw Mooney's version of his offense. There seem to be no great answers with this team. Finally shot well from 3 but terrible ball security and poor rebounding defined the game.
At least the lineups got mixed up a bit. Some effort to adapt.

Can’t wait for this post game press conference.
I generally like Patsos, and do enjoy his overall broad hoops knowledge of players. Way over the top on Mooney of course, but that is part of hyping the game you are currently broadcasting. He did mention several times about our lack of offensive rebounding and inability to come back due to moon's style. It was funny b/c the other announcer a few times though Richmond got away with fouls and Patso's came right back and disagreed.Yeah they misidentified our guys a lot. I kinda liked Jimmy Patsos tho. I didn’t expect to. Not with his fingers on a chalkboard voice. Talked so much & so fast too but also came w a lot industry knowledge from life in college hoops. Good anecdotes. Knew our style well. He was like an acquired taste over the game.
I did lol when he said Richmond only had 1 bad loss in 2 months. His example was the Bonnies. Maybe he meant to say 2 weeks. Think he missed Auburn, W&M, FGCU in Dec.
I thought AP and Dusan were particularly ineffective. Some on here praise Dusan's aggressiveness, but he was a turnover and flopping machine last night. Seems GW had the scouting report after first game and easily ripped him on the early drives, which he flopped and fell on the floor while the play went on. Even Moon get very frustrated with him yelling a few times. Defense was none existent. AP was way off on his shot. Too many passes across court that we tried to throw right through defenders.
That is one of the main things killing this team that the only guy who can consistently score just has so many flaws but he has to be out there, period.I thought AP and Dusan were particularly ineffective. Tyne made some shots on offense tonight, but man, he freaking hates getting teammates shots. Hates it while he hunts his own. Or maybe he just is not a playmaker like others on here have mentioned. Couple times he drove and could have easily kicked to GW3 or Roche and nope. If I were those guys I would tell him to get his head out of his A$$. Once, Roche was WIDE open right behind him yelling for the ball, and Tyne threw it 30 feet across court. WTF??? Have to think he just couldn't hear him 2 feet away. Same thing happened when he drove and GW3's man came in and Tyne forces a contested shot when GW was wide open. WTF??? I have not watched a ton of us this year, but this team is maddening. Agree, B. Artis best game by far. And was thinking same thing, took so many games to get here. Just seems he has been really banged up all year and just hard to get in flow.Roche was hot early again then we can’t find him shots much after. Think he got 1 thereafter. At least he was out there more this time but odd we still can’t find the hot hand well.
Tyne just seems to over dribble. He’s missing opportunities right in front of him. This was the case even when DH was healthy. With DH out, Tyne is too amped up. Seems Moon could address this?Tyne made some shots on offense tonight, but man, he freaking hates getting teammates shots. Hates it while he hunts his own. Went and checked out Paige Bueckers Uconn return at Depaul.....better use of my time.Sounds like not many ppl watched this 23. We must be gluten for punishment.
Dusan pulled a Duke on that tripping play. I like his skill & aggressiveness on O but not a big fan of how he carries himself. I know u have mentioned that too b4. Patsos blamed it on Bosnia lol. Yeah Soulis got solid time tonight. Looked as good as Walz or beagle. Go figure. Made some mistakes but also some nice plays. Also B Artis best game. He looked like a player last night. Unfortunately we r 20 games in & that was 1st time. Spids shot 3 ball well for us. Yet still never looked like we’d win. Way too many live ball turnovers leading to fast break pts. Gave up too many O rebounds too. Beat badly on boards. Vcu salivating watching those 2 things. Glou gave us nothing tonight. Roche was hot early again then we can’t find him shots much after. Think he got 1 thereafter. At least he was out there more this time but odd we still can’t find the hot hand well.
GW outrebounds us by 18, and we still can't consider the 2 big lineup Mooney talked about all offseason?
