Media Discussion of Spider Hoops

Decent hour 1 of Black and Drew this morning. They spent the first 20 mins discussing the game last night, before moving on to VT Fball.

Another good call from SpiderJeff -- putting Hardt on notice. Wallace isn't a fake news kinda guy, and I appreciate that. Around the 24 min mark Wallace refers to Thin Skin as the losingest coach, not just the winningest coach. Nice job. Ha.

Looking forward to Tuesday. Spider Jeff, when you grill Hardt please don't set him up with another Iowa analogy, because he'll just fall back on fan support being the most important thing.

"Pixie dust"...nice touch. I think SpiderJeff boiled it down well. There really are two outcomes with Hardt & how he handles Mooney. 1. He really is just a proxy of PQ with no decsionmaking abilities of his own or 2. Hardt's evaluation skills are incompetent.

If Jeff goes with another analogy, how abut Star Wars? maybe the Jabba the Hardt...I mean Hut scene with Princess Leia being held chained and hostaged. I don't know just spitballing.

Yes, I think this analogy will go over better than SpiderJeff attacking Jabba's (er Hardt's) beloved Iowan's. To paraphrase Hardt: Well Jeff, in Iowa we lose and lose and lose for years and years and our dumbA$% fans just keep liking it! Better get used to it JEFF!
But let's see where the Jabba analogy goes.
 
Can SpiderJeff also ask Hardt to elaborate on the “highs” of the season our AD has identified? I’m still searching but Hardt has that Iowan vision.
 
Yes. On Twitter yesterday Wallace said they were trying to work out a time, so guess they couldn't nail it down.

I'm sure he is waiting for a win to make his next appearance. Maybe we should look for him after our big Fordham win so we can talk about the growth of our young team and how all of the hard work they are putting in is finally paying off.

Sorry to be skeptical but I had it on "good authority" that Sal K was the best recruit we have ever signed and that Jake W was the best shooter as a freshman ever to step foot on UR campus. Seriously.

sure, out of work prospective coaches maybe. the reason why a mid season firing is so useless is you can't talk to anyone who actually has a job.
 
You fire a coach midseason when everything about the program has gotten stale and when a loser mentality has taken over. We are there. I don't care who replaces him the rest of the season -- it becomes a different messenger and that's important, even if he's giving mostly the same message.
 
Maybe Rocco could take a break from offseason football recruiting and fill in as interim basketball coach? Delaware is not that far away and Rocco already knows about the athletic "atmosphere' in Spider land....as well as being well acquainted with the Robins Center...............
 
And this is why I left my post vague. So it would be taken so seriously and scrutinized.
 
Jabba ain't going to go interim. Put me down for that mortal lock. But if he did we actually got a couple obvious outside ones - Johnny Newman and Kevin Eastman. Heck Newman lobbied for the job in past. A legend here and available. Interim all the way but if they pulled out a miracle well maybe they got a shot. Give it to New he know what to Dew.
 
Well give Hardt credit, he is waiting as long as possible for the stink of Saturday’s loss to dissipate and as close as possible before our next game to appear on air.

Guy isn’t dumb.

Plus, he's bringing a guest, which will help prevent the entire hour being dedicated to the state of our basketball programs.
 
For the love of everything holy let it be PQ. What better way to turn listener's attention away from these trainwreck programs than bring on the De Facto AD & President to announce that the Practice Facility has reached 100% in donation pledges.

Then after the announcement, open up the lines so SpiderJeff can call someone a proxy
 
Does Bob Black's teaser get you excited? No me either. I expect Hardt to chortle a lot and we'll be lucky if there is 1 call in.
