Khwan Fore Update

Nobody gets it. The usual negative crap. If you had the opportunity, why would you not move to an ACC school and get to play in the best basketball conference in the country? He is starting at guard and playing in packed, fantastic arenas - like today, Louisville won at UNC. Louisville will go to the NCAA and he will have some great memories playing against future NBA stars. This move was more about a great opportunity than a slam on UR.

Clearly he knew we had no chance to make the NCAAs or else he would have stayed here. That's the indictment on our program. We had an ACC-caliber player here and couldn't keep him. And some among us believe we are better without him. Asinine.

I haven’t watched any Louisville games. Is Khwan playing PG when he’s in?

I watch as many games as possible. Kind of like rooting for the Spiders in a way with KF on board. He's more of a non-shooting SG who Mack has guarding their best scoring guard.

I'm a Kwan fan, but let's not forget that Louisville was NOT his first choice, he was all lined up to transfer to Tennessee when something there didn't work out, and he ended up with Mack at Louisville. Louisville not a bad second option, but it's certainly not a case of Kwan wanting to be at Louisville from the get-go.

So yes, because he is an ACC-caliber athlete, he has an unique opportunity at L-ville. But he left UR because he wanted a better chance to contribute to a winning program and possibly the NCAA's. If we had any chance to dance, KF would have probably stayed in Richmond. Can't blame him one bit for doing what he did, and best of luck to the young man.

Tennessee is #3 in the country... not an indictment on Kwan to be linked to Tennessee before ending up at Louisville. Maybe I don’t get your point.

My point was that his original move to the Vols would have practically guaranteed a trip to the NCAA's.

He is a great player and a big loss to U of R, but saying a player should transfer if he is capable of making an ACC team is complete BS. 5 years from now no one will remember him at Louisville. If he had stayed at U of R he would have been remembered and considered part of the U of R family for a very long time.

This statement is a real steaming pile! His contributions during his four years at UR have already earned him consideration for the "U of R Family". If he stayed one more year, and we continued in the CM tradition of sub-.500 basketball, it would not have enhanced KF's reputation with the fans one iota.

He is not THE reason UL pounded UNC today.

I might have missed reading something here? Who posted the above?

Looking at the situation now KF made a good decision not going to Tenn. As much as I like Khawn, Tenn's defense was solid last season like this year and too much talent on that squad that KF might never had gotten into the rotation ala ANO at Pitt. Probably didn't want to go to the dance but not be able to dance.

Louisville had less talent and Mack might have told KF, I'm new here and ever player gets to show me what they can do. With the lack of proven talent Louisville had coming back, number wise I say Khawn had about a 1% chance to get to the tourney but probably play some.

Like I posted previously if Mack can continue to find enough offense to win, Khawn probably will continue to get 15-20 minutes. No matter how good you're defense is, you still can't win games without putting the ball in the basket. Go Khawn!

Some people will welcome him back and others will not. My guess is he will not feel comfortable returning.

Kwan will ALWAYS be a part of the U of R family. He not only was a valued member of our basketball team, but he’s also a fellow Alumn.

ACC caliber player? You mean like Zion Williamson? Are you comparing Khwan to Zion? If Khwan were ACC caliber, wouldn't it make sense to give our coach credit for either recruiting an ACC caliber player or turning him into one, instead of getting on him for not keeping him?

Per 40 minutes a game, Khwan averaged 13.2 ppg for us, 7.3 for Louisville.
Per 40 minutes a game, Khwan averaged 4 reb, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.2 blocks for us, 2.6,.2-7,1.1, and 0.1 in those categories for Louisville. So, every category, offensively and defensively, he did better per minute on the floor with us than with Louisville, but some of you continue to make yourself look foolish by praising Chris Mack for "knowing how to use him so much better than Mooney did."

You're the one who looks like a fool here to everyone but yourself. Yes, Khwan is an ACC-caliber player – as evidenced by the fact that he starts for an ACC team. But nice stretch there trying to imply that anyone compared him to the BEST ACC player, Zion Williamson. Give me a freaking break dude.

Yes, Khwan did better with us. He would have continued to do very well for us, as a starter (despite what you think). The point is that he was willing to give up a starter's role and starter's minutes here to go play a lesser role for a better program. Because he knew we had zero chance of making the NCAAs. Again. As per usual.

Mr. Kind Sir VT4700, quit while you are ahead. Next you will tell us Mooney is really on a roll. And, despite 05's attempts to deflect the blame to himself, I did find that you were crapping on Mack. What a joke. Mooney is 1/178th the coach of Mr. Mack.

I’ve never seen such a serious case “separation anxiety”.
I think this may be the most ridiculous thread we’ve ever had.
I wish KF the best, but he wasn’t a star here. He was just a very good bb player
that decided to move on for one year.

KF didn't play his best of games last night with 2 TOs and few ill-advised shots. Did make two 3PTers to start the 2nd half. Otherwise Mack got 27 minutes out of Khawn who did an awesome job on Bowman.

Louisville 43 Georgia Tech 16 HT. Watched the entire half and appears the entire team has been transformed into how Khwan plays defensively. If it stays that way, KF might lose a few minutes of playing time. :(

Louisville 84 NCST 77. Watched entire game and might have been KF's best game to date. Khawn had 9 PTS (4-6 shooting) 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 TOs. And of course another solid effort on defense. And 31 minutes playing time. :)

Kwan is appreciated there also as on one play he was guarding Dorn who tried to run Kwan into a screen and get into the lane. Kwan cut below the screen, beat him to the lane and forced him out of the lane and made him get rid of the ball. The fans went nuts as though he had hit a last second three. Kwan is appreciated and he still does it with class and is still so humble. I will always be a Kwan Fore fan.
