I think JJ and Keith deserves their own thread.

I am going to miss JJ. He gives a 100% every time he is on the court. He has also shot very well in A10 conference games. .379% from 3s and .80% FT. Thanks for everything JJ!

Keith, you have shown some great ball handling in limited minutes. What a lot of people don't see if the great effort you put into practice and helping the starters be as good as they can be.

Thanks guys for everything! My bad. It about the kids. Can't involved Mooney with everything. The players can only play for who is coaching them. Thanks again and proud in all sincerity that you guys go to school and play basketball!

Thanks, guys! Keith, congrats on the scholarship. That is way cool. JJ, you have been a class act your whole time here and had some big games for us. Hope both of you make a few early shots and get us going today. Let's get a big win!

Keith - Senior leadership. Has done everything asked of him. Cool cucumber in tense game situations. Team spokesman. Some of you might end up working for him some day.

Julius - Tough guy on the court. Countless sparks of brilliance and momentum with his swish 3s. Knows when to foul. The Iceman. Team award for largest in-person fan base (FL).

Will really miss these 2.

Yes Mooney is such a nice guy that he didn't even let a senior play when we had absolutely nothing to play for. And don't even give me that crap about avoiding a first round game. We have less chance than a snowball in hell of even remotely coming close to winning the A10 tournament.

But no surprise, Mr Nice Guy has done this to seniors on senior night every year that I can remember...

This is even worse than normal. Julius is averaging 18 min/game for the season and has actually been playing better late in the season and he only got 3 minutes on his senior night.

And I've defended Mooney in the past for this. If we were on the bubble or playing for a top 4 seed/bye, then fine, don't play somebody just to say you played them. But that's not the case here.

Okay, I'm a Mooney supporter, apologist and so called "truther" (wtf that is). However, this is a gripe of mine too. I am still disappointed he didn't start PF last year (or even get him in), and that JJ did not start today and Keith did not get in at all. Yes, a win was of paramount importance, though had no weight in A-10 standings or in tourney seeding.

I’ll be that guy...

This isn’t high school or division 3 ball. Both Otto and JJ were honored before he game. The actual game is about winning and I won’t begrudge Money for doing what he thinks is best for the win.

Pathetic... the guys put in 4+ years of effort, the win meant nothing except to Mooney and his desperation to save his job... it was classless.

If wins is all that matter then Mooney should be gone Wed. night, right?

Maybe he went braindead, though for 40 minutes? I say if Mooney stays he he first gets a psychological evaluation (by an independent source from UR);) to make sure he is mentally fit to continue leading the Spiders. Though I think it will show he's just a "low-IQ" coach for A10 competition.

Didn't see last night's game, but Roy Williams for years has put ALL his Seniors in to start the game, including walk-ons. And I'm 100% sure he cares about winning and championships,

He only had 3 seniors (including one from Bird HS) and they all started. That's a coach.

Only coach in Richmond history that hasn't started seniors on Senior Day - or at least since I became a Spider when Lew Mills was our basketball coach....don't get the logic at all.......................it is basically an act of kindness and consideration with no perceivable downside...because they could be removed any time even if it means calling a time out ...because our time out usage has its enigmas as it is...........................

I’ll support Roy all day, but this year not the best example. His 3 seniors start anyway and all 3 are likely going to be on All-ACC teams when announced (Cam Johnson first team, Luke Maye second team and local product Kenny Williams all defensive)
