I never doubted you and the "per Broc" wasn't a prompt to verify it in any way. I just hadn't heard it myself unlike some other comments. But I'm glad you put it out there because it's actually worse than I imagined.
I assume he was also factoring in the 1 NCAA team that we had the potential to get as part of Barclays event - ended up being Colgate. The one Hardt pushed in his email newsletter. The one all of us could have told him we would never get and instead getting stuck with the 2 worst teams. Both Green Bay & Colgate easily the 2 strongest and we get neither. So perhaps that's 1 but he's still 1 to 1.5 short EVEN if this last game is NCAA, which it better be. Heck Bob is acting like the NCAA team was set in stone and already scheduled. JOhn O'Connor is being told it is unknown and we need a game. Now if we are truly going for a neutral game I assume it would be a solid team but they may strike out entirely. Regardless as I feared Bob is just part of the Bait & Switch mentality permeating our AD headed by big hat no cattle Hardt. Tough tough year for Bob.

As far as the NCAA team I predict it is UVA/Richmond in DC- UVA is negotiating over the venue and will be the home team. Huge UVA alumni base in the area. Remember the two scrimmaged last year here in Richmond. The big name is why Bob is being so coy! UVa has an open date Dec 7th!!!

If it indeed is UVA 9, can't get any better than that. Would be great to play them every year even if mostly Ls against them. Spiders get enough home games during their OOC, Hardt go 2A/3A to 1H if it does the trick.
I seem to recall Mooney saying that we would be playing at the Mystics' arena in DC again this season. Could be wrong, but that's my recollection.
Where are you getting that info or was it all a prediction? The negotiating part was written like you knew it. I didn't dismiss it when I first read it because UVA actually could schedule 1 more game. They are in exempt tourney and could have 11 OOC games. Right now just have 10. Plus when it was reported we are looking to get neutral game I did think of DC venue where we played High Point last year. Also not sure how UVA could be the "home" team at a neutral site even though they would certainly have the home crowd advantage. Not how it works.
But as Broc noted UVA has released their OOC and 12/7 is even listed as an ACC game in Charlottesville.

ACC plays a couple games early given 20 game league schedule. So I think their intentions are pretty clear. I suppose if they decided to get that 11th game they might have flexibility to move the 12/7 acc date around. But getting late to do so. Plus I don't understand why UVA would release their schedule if it was not complete. However occasionally teams do just that.
Where is our resident big UVA fan who moonlighted as a VT fan to chime in on this? 9Legs it would have been nice and good prediction/rumor I guess regardless.

LOL, OK sport. He is a grown man; he doesn't need your "protection." I've met him and his son and look forward to seeing them again next month. He's not a "helicopter parent" (your words) and wasn't doing anything wrong.
