A telling comment that it took Terry until mid-way through his sophomore season before he felt he had control of the offensive and defensive sets. This is part of the reason why we have such a heavy reliance on upper classmen in our system.

which is why IN THEORY, redshirting an occasional freshman seems like a good idea. speeds up the learning curve in the years that count.

yeah, i'm not opposed to the redshirt like some folks are. i'm also in favor of burning a redshirt if the need arises though.

regardless, just points to how we should temper expectations that freshmen come in and take meaningful minutes. some guys can and will, but i think terry's case is probably more the norm.
