Free throws

Now 81.2% and #2 nationally. Considering the past few years, that's just an amazing statistic.

Crossing my fingers that the bottom doesn't fall out... we need every one of them in the upcoming games.
It is remarkable and why I was not worried about the game last night, because we knock down our FT's. I still have memories of SDJ getting fouled in crunch time and missing. Dude was a good FT shooter, unless the game was on the line, than he was awful.

It's truly remarkable. I feel like there should be a 30 for 30 story behind this somewhere...
Maybe they are waiting until after that is our performance at the line in Brooklyn "30 for 30"...

Nearly the end of the season now and a few mentions on other threads about it - we have slipped just a little but still an amazing #13 out of 353 teams at 77.4% as a team. Of our top 8 rotation guys only Grant is shooting under 75% (and even he has improved to 71% up from shooting in the 60's his first 2 full years). It's great to not have anyone on the court during crunch time who is a big liability shooting free throws. Special shout out to Nathan who is still at 80% after really struggling last year.

Speaking of free throws. Don’t know if anybody saw this stat but it made me shudder. In Nebraska’s game against Northwestern this weekend they went 8-30 from the free throw line!!!

SLU saw that and was like, 'Hold our non-alcoholic beverages...'

Although SLU has 15 games where they missed 10 or more, although in 10 of those they were 163-302, they rarely shoot below 40% even if they are approaching 300 misses for the season. :)
