Interesting game today involving two teams on two separate paths right now.
Fordham - they are likely ecstatic just to be in the tourney and let alone be an 8 seed. With 17 wins (granted an easy schedule) they are probably thinking - if we can win 1-2 games here, we might get an bid to one of those other tourney's. Which for Fordham, which for the past several years has consistently been not only one of the worse teams in the A10, but probably a bottom 75 team in the country - they are feeling pretty good about the A10 tourney right now and happy to be there.
Richmond - disappointment all season, and limp into the tourney with a loss to Mason. What was supposed to be an NCAA year for the Spiders has turned into a nightmare. No post-season in sight unless they win the A10 tourney. Do the Spiders come and play with desperation like this could be their last game or did they only bring one change of clothes and expect to be back in Richmond tonight?
First 5 minutes of this game will tell a lot about the energy we have. I expect Fordham to come out excited and ready to play, but not sure how our guys will react.

All A10 teams play in the conference tournament, I'm not sure why Fordham would feel ecstatic just to be playing in it. Did they think they were going to get kicked out of the conference or something?
No they thought they were going to go back in time to when some stayed home.
But they do have some fans that are celebrating not playing on Wednesday...

Admittedly, we haven't gotten much from him recently so it could be more of a loss from a body standpoint than anything else. Need Julius to really step up and do something.
Hey more of JJ, maybe Moran and Paul. What do we have to lose. Must have been a pretty good bump up or the air bag hit him flush.
It will be interesting to see our starting 5 of Paul, Kovien, John, Jesse, & Joe...
At this point a loss ends the season, so we have more to lose than basically any other game we have played this year.
Miss seeing MW in there but hasn't produced since VCU game. Hopefully PF finally gets some time but thinking CM might rely on 30 minutes from both DT and TD.
Up 16 at break. If they find a way to lose this game then I would fire Mooney.
Just saying Fordham has been one of the worst teams in the country, let alone the A10 - the past few years. And there was a time some teams did not make the tourney. I honestly wish they would go back to that format rather than the first round games.
Nonetheless - UR is looking good. This is a game we should win.

+1! Would be nice so main core doesn't play too many minutes. The on-ball defense energy really has showed up so far. Tough team to beat when you couple that with good shooting.

Great ball movement in the first half. Fordham looked awful. Please don't let Davis and Taylor shoot anymore from the outside. Shondre and Fore playing well as is Cline. Allen has been very silent. two nice threes from JJ.
