collectives are scouting? I can see how the $ is an important piece, but outside of fund raising and determining a number, I can't see how they're involved in recruiting.

Idk exactly the protocol. They probably tell the collective who they like. They do recruit but not really the players. They recruit the agencies of the players. For “NIL” disguised as pay for play.

Anyway just sharing what I heard from a professional agent but it is quite believable.
