Fire Mooney

I hope this is the end but I have as much confidence in us pulling the plug or us making the NCAA tournament

What’s the overall record vs VCU now for coach for life?

Don't worry the same result happens year after year. Yet the future is somehow brighter? Its like you never smell the coffee and never wake up?

I think I finally figured out the future is bright line of thinking. It’s like on a cloudy day when you go to the movies, and then come outside and it seems bright because you were sitting in the dark for hours. That’s us...we’ve dimmed the present so much that the future looks bright. Well done Mooney.

I heard tonight on the radio basically "the game tempo fits Richmond perfectly". "Only a five point difference". Our legs give out toward the end. Finally result 12 point loss.

I would be ok with our best player, expected to come back, leaving and all our incoming recruits de-committing if it meant Mooney was gone. No disrespect to any of those guys because they are potentially great players and kids for our program and I know it would mean a much harder rebuild. But at this point, it’s anything to start over. We could play an entire roster of walk-ons next season, if it meant we found the right coach.

Agree completely. Need a new coach and a new culture. And take Jabba with you on the way out.

Completely agree. It’s just what has to happen. This doesn’t have to be an ugly divorce either. It’s just time for both sides to move on.

The two year window thing has to come into play here. This class having 2 years left together was THE reason Mooney kept his job after 2019. If UR goes two years with nothing to show then Mooney has to be gone. If he can’t get it done with the self proclaimed “best class ever” than he’s never gonna get it done. I still can’t get over how disrespectful the “best class ever” thing is to the KA and Harper senior class. They are literally THE reason he still has a job.

Its like a moment of silence to reflect on time loss watching the ship sink.

Can we get a new update on the conference game quantity and makeup confidence? Just like VT4700 I know Mooney was very confident of getting all in besides 1 or 2 too.

I know VT4700 is on hiatus, and he was likely only parroting Mooney's words on how many games we'll get in. But I tried to warn him. Just another reason why the lack of urgency we've shown is difficult to take. It was just a massive miscalculation to expect 16 or 17 games. Sort of like the extension was a massive miscalculation. Neither is hindsight.

Burton just doesn’t look like the player he was earlier this year. The offense in general has looked terrible today.

Just curious bur has Mooney ever heard of trying a zone out? It would have been the defense to run against SLU instead of giving up 40+ inside. I will never forget the GW game in 2014 which was when I knew Mooney had to go. UR got crushed that night inside in a game that had a chance to help get UR in as an at large team. My dad and I were screaming at Mooney the whole time to try out a 2-3 zone but he never changed up his defense and UR lost. Didn’t think this would still be an issue 7 years later...

He really is as incompetent a coach as I have ever seen. To watch them get layups and dunks at will and not DO ANYTHING to try to stop it is complete incompetence. Im sorry but the guy truly is a disaster and should be embarrassed.

Mooney thought the defense played well in the second half per his post game comments. Lol. We must lead the league in uncontested layups and dunks. He's in total denial.
