) side note, Deuce's backcourt mate at USD Wayne McKinney just exited the portal committing to SDSU. Solid if not spectacular pick up for Aztecs. They were recruiting him some out of high school, local product from Coronado, but don't think they offered back then.

What's the USD-SDSU rivalry like? They're in different leagues, if I recall correctly. And I'm guessing USD never beats them anymore.
No, from what I can tell not much of a rivalry at all. Nothing like VCU - Richmond, not much acrimony between fan bases. Interesting, Steve Lavin is the USD coach now, but before him was Sam Scholl. When Scholl got canned by USD, he worked for a year as an unpaid assistant at SDSU (I think whatever he would have got paid would have come out of his settlement so just did it for free).
