Dayton InGame

Announcer just said "Richmond doesn't get any offensive rebounds so it's one and done." Doesn't he understand that rebounds are highly overrated?

And I got push back on whether these guys could compete in 4 games in 4 days. This team doesn't do well on short turnaround, much less back to back

Apparently Mooney has been cussing like a sailor the entire game. A10 Foul Mouth of the Year winner. Ha.

Just shows the announcer probably didn't read the cheat sheet on us even though he saw us yesterday.

If Rich pulls a St Louis will we really be happy? That leaves the door open for hardship transfers. Maybe TJ SDJ transfer to a winning programs alla ANO. Not gonna lie I would consider it. Be careful what you wish for.

Senior starters combine for a pathetic 11 points to end their career. Maybe they will show up next year!!!!

Didn't get to see the game, haven't read the thread yet. Not a great way to end the season. Hope we get some good news soon.

Down almost 20 with 5 minutes left, Davis & Taylor take turns playing one-on-one. Good options , not.

Don't watch it and don't read the thread. Just let us know what our odds are of getting to NCAA next year. :)

I hear Crews will pay Mooney's buyout to come here...

I wouldn't even say Cline had a great game, though he did most of our scoring. He must have been blocked at least 3 times, and had 7 turnovers. But the rest of the team was much worse. Allen has disappeared. Hopefully, he will get a nice contract to play professionally overseas, but I no longer see any chance of him playing in the NBA, till he proves himself overseas. Moran again did well in 3 point shooting, and again CM chose to not play 3 freshmen in the closing minutes. I'll be really surprised if they don't all transfer out. What are the chances, we're going to be able to sign any more players this spring. If we can't, we're going to be very thin next year.

That's because it was 1 on 5 and TJ still scored 25 points!!!

I'm not sure what Crew's contract was at St. Louis but I'm guessing it wasn't as lucrative or lengthy as Mooney's. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Mooney will be back regardless based on the financials alone. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Man, looking at the box score it seems like our defense actually wasn't that bad. Our offense was just horrible though, we even took more shots than Dayton but shot probably the worst we have all year. That is certainly not what I expected.

Did announcer just say Julius Johnson is a little more athletic than Kwan Fore?

Mooney just said run the offense all the way with 5 min left ..smh terrible coaching
I understand that the main reason for the loss was the poor shooting by everyone except Cline. However, just for anyone that is interested, I had Allen giving up 9, TJ giving up 6, Shondre giving up 5, Fore 6, JJ 5, Taylor 7 and Davis 13. That doesn't count fouls that led to points and a few baskets I didn't care about at the end of the game.
One of my main takeaways from this game ( and many before this game) was the "coach's" decision not to let guys who have practiced all year get in for at least a couple of minutes. In this game they could have played for ten minutes. I fell very sorry for these guys and if this is how you let your bench know that you are aware of their practicing all year I hope a few of them tell him where he can send their mail next year.
And for all you Mooney lovers who think he is illustrating the lesson that you don't play unless you earn it, I have two answers- Taylor and Davis.
By the way, this is not just sympathy for bench players. The more guys you play all year, the more choices you have when things go wrong. Guys get tired from playing so much and then you ask those same handful to play back to back with no rest. Conclusion? what we saw today.
Did the "coach" lose this game? Not entirely, but he was a major, major contributor. Does he deserve to get fired? Let's see what happens next year.

Seniors, I'm sorry this was your final game. I'm sure you all played hard and perhaps as well as you could. Really glad that Moran got in and hit some threes. Oh, what could have been.

Really, you didn't expect a good Dayton team to shit can our asses today. A well coached team with a full compliment of players, who are hungry, beats that tar our of a short benched, poorly coached team, that quit about 6 weeks ago. This is exactly what I expected.

I would like some of what you are smoking though, cause it sounds like a great high.

bongturk, I appreciate your post and I know we are all very careful not to bash individual kids on this board. In regard to the Seniors playing hard and as well as they could today...I just feel like once we got behind and things weren't going our way we just kind of let the season die today. I don't blame the kids individually...it's been a brutal last few months...but we gave up a lot of easy buckets just by not hustling and getting back on defense. Hopefully the team will adopt more of TJ's passion next year because we need some energy and enthusiasm on the court.

Kwan Fore would make one hell of a defensive back for Danny.Would be an All CAA selection with a shot at playing on Sunday's.Oh well, maybe Kwan will see the light.....Wasted athletism on hardcourt with the way we play.Come on over to the Brickhouse,Kwan.

I expected to lose, but I expected it to be due to our defense sucking, not our offense. I don't think anyone could have predicted how bad our offense played today.

Holding Dayton to 21% from 3, 26% offensive rebounding (national average is 30%), and forcing turnovers on 22% of their possessions were all really good things on defense. If we had done that every game we would be an NCAA lock. Our offense was just really really bad.
