This again raises the question whether the pre-existing diseases are not perhaps a more important factor than the virus itself. The Italian example has shown that 99% of test-positive deaths had one or more pre-existing conditions, and even among these, only 12% of the death certificates mentioned Covid19 as a causal factor.

Here's a hint: If you have to constantly tell people how great a job you are doing, or what a wonderful person you are, you're most likely neither. Just do your damn job and shut up. Unreal how this administration botched this so badly. Look at these remarks from a month ago at one of the briefings (rallies). Just read how incredibly clueless he is. "So we’re at the low level. As they get better, we take them off the list, so that we’re going to be pretty soon at only five people. And we could be at just one or two people over the next short period of time." So freaking clueless, and thousands of lives will be lost as a result.

With covid-19, we are now over 1,300 deaths with over 85,000 cases (with over 2,000 cases serious or critical). This would be about 460 cases every 30,000. And, that is with the steps we have taken the past few weeks to try to slow it down.

Birx said yesterday that the ratio of un-diagnosed cases to confirmed cases could be as high as 1000 to 1. It's probably not that high, but if correct, that would mean 85 million Americans have already had some strain of this virus and most had mild or no symptoms.
If it's half that, we're about a week away from the point where R0 < 1, and we're on the back side of the curve.
I don't understand all the clamoring for more ventilators. The mortality rate if you're bad enough to need a vent is 95%.

The fact that there is still no effective federal clearinghouse for the supplies that are in critical demand from hospitals and emergency workers in every state is ridiculous. Northam has been asking for federal direction every day at his press conference for a week. Every other governor is saying the same thing. You have 50 states competing against each other to try to get this stuff. How is that effective for anyone? And still, nothing.
Because unless governors come out and say the president has done an amazing job, and is the best president ever, and has never ever made a mistake, and is just perfect at everything, they won't get the help they need.
