We offered this kid, a 6-7, 240 power forward from Georgia. Has a bunch of other offers, but none that are head and shoulders above us. Mississippi State is probably his best one.

Brian is definitely "block the shot" player; that is ok as we now have many "make the shot" players. OSC

32, agree 1000%. The Spiders have a plethora of shooters, but a paucity of shot blockers! OSC
Garrett is who he reminds me of, on both ends of the court. Would want this young man around

I really like that we are actively offering to 2017 recruits right now. And, if we could get a commitment early from a player of this caliber, I would far prefer to see this than to keep fishing in the current waters for 2016 kids. The nibbles are few and far between for 2016 recruits, and there are some quality 2017s out there, if we can close on them soon.
I said numerous times over the past year that we were losing our 4 best defensive players (that included ANO, DT, TD and TA) and that we did not seem to be prioritizing defense very highly so far, at least not "rim-protection-D." I hope that a commitment from a player like this one will change our prognosis for future defense in a BIG way!
