University of Richmond underway on $25M library upgrades - Richmond BizSense

The project includes a new atrium with a multiuse seating area and more study spaces for students. Construction started in the spring and comes as the latest in a sequence of projects at the Boatwright Memorial Library.

The geese in the second picture seem to be a little confused about the loss of Boatwright Beach.

I linked to this in the previous thread about the Weinstein-funded learning center that will be the next phase, but here's StudioMB's page with more renderings and info on the current phase of construction.

The additional lower access centered on the new cafe with an entrance patio should really help improve and activate that rather ugly end of the building.

Man I remember sliding down that hill on Refectory trays during a rare snowstorm. I was also on a construction crew doing a tearout of Boatwright in 1976, the first time it was expanded.

Boatwright Library is a beautiful building. I've heard the inside is nice too. Same as Canon Chapel.
