Delaware 24, William & Mary 3
Box Score

Delaware's defense held William & Mary to 228 total yards and took advantage of a pair of Tribe turnovers in a 24-3 win. The Blue Hens (5-4, 3-3 CAA) limited W&M to 105 rushing yards and didn't allow any points over the final 53 minutes of the game. The Tribe (6-3, 4-2 CAA) capped a 68-yard game-opening drive with an Ethan Chang field goal to go up 3-0. Delaware forced and recovered a fumble at the W&M 12-yard line late in the first quarter and Dejoun Lee scored from there two plays later to take a 7-3 lead. After stopping the Tribe on fourth down on the next drive, UD's Zach Gwynn hit James Collins with a 25-yard TD pass to make it 14-3. The Blue Hens added a 48-yard Ryan Coe field goal in the third quarter and then put the game away on an 8-yard TD pass from Gwynn to Jourdan Townsend with 13:58 remaining. Johnny Buchanan had 12 tackles and an interception that set up the final score to lead the Blue Hens' defense while Liam Trainer added 12 stops and 2.0 TFL's. Gwynn finished 17-of-21 passing for 157 yards, with Collins making six grabs for 73 yards. W&M's defense kept Delaware to just 201 total yards. Nate Lynn made a team-high seven tackles.

The Hens are very beatable without starting QB. Back up QB Gwynn, redshirt Junior, is growing with each start, but nevertheless believe Spiders have the better O and D. This is a team we should defeat. No give me, but play usual defense without turnovers on O like our odds.

Remember:

2 current starters UD flipped from UR to Hens when Danny boy left for New-Ark

Towson HC Rob Ambrose has younger brother Jared Ambrose who is OC and QB coach for Hens

32, was any holistic and mustache'd analysis of the Tribe game's physicality available on the interwebs anywhere?

Geez. Entertaining, but who would believe from these highlights that the Tribe were schooled 24-3.

Expected to highlight the positive for your team, but can't totally ignore reality.

Tribe made 3 particular bonehead decisions(plays)-that’s how they lost.

1.WM fumbles on their own 12.

2.WM goes for it on 4th and 1 on their own 34 and doesn’t make it.

3.WM throws INT and UD starts at WM 36 yd line.

All the game stats favored WM.

Have to admit that feels like something we’d do. Self inflected sounds and then put out a highlight video.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Tyler Pastula, So., P, Delaware (Easton, Pa./Easton)

Pastula earns his second straight honor after averaging 47.8 yards on five punts as Delaware beat No. 20 William & Mary, 24-3. The sophomore had two punts over 50 yards and dropped one inside the 20-yard line that was fumbled and led to UD’s first touchdown. Pastula leads the CAA with a 42.8 punting average this season.

FCS: Week 11 Games With Playoff Implications

Delaware at Richmond

Why: Delaware’s shot at the playoffs isn’t 100 percent dead yet. If the Blue Hens beat Richmond on the road and No. 8 Villanova at home, they finish with seven wins and a big resume-booster vs. Nova, which the committee may like and give them an at-large bid.

Hate to say it but seems like a game that is going to come down to fielding punts cleanly. Don’t expect either offense to do a ton so just don’t turn it over.

in a game decided by special teams, I think we have a Legg up 😂
