Aleem just picked up an offer from Saint Louis.
http://hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/4185-aleem-ford-s-development-continues .....While he has not taken an official visit thus far, there are two schools that stand a good shot at landing the first chance to bring the IMG senior to campus. “Rutgers and Richmond are two schools that I might want to visit at the end of the season,” Ford told HoopSeen.
Aleem is 6'7". OSCyeah we better hurry up to beat out Hofstra, Wofford and Quinnipiac.
if Coach decides Aleem is the guy I'll love him. but this looks like a case where we're his best offer.
he's 6'5" - 6'6" and 180. he looks like he needs a little time. nothing wrong with that, but I'm looking for a guy who can give us time at big forward this fall. Ford's appears to be a SF that can get stronger. in time.
SF, maybe Andre is garnering more apparent attention because of his father's and brother's reputations. OSCFWIW, Verbal Commits rates Aleem a 3 star. Same as Monte and Nick and better than Grant and Andre at 2.5.
Definitely not getting as much attention as Andre though.
No, but maybe this influences Ohio State's interest. OSCyou think we're interested in Wesson because of his father or brother?
If we can't get Wesson, I guess Ford would do. I am not that excited about him at this point, though. Seems like these are the last two HS recruits we have a chance at, though, before we dip back into Dominaus/Singleton/Diekvoss/Smithen territory.
So here's a really interesting philosophical question: If we end up having up to 3 scholarships open because we don't land any of these high-radar guys, do we leave them open? That's a lot of scholarship depth not to have in a given year but if you want to put some lipstick on the pig, it allows us to:Yep, this is my fear. We lose out on these two guys and then hit the panic button and go to the bargain bin to fill out a couple scholarships. I hope Mooney is feeling some intense pressure to not go to that route again and perhaps even prohibited from doing so. Any player that has only 1 or 2 low mid major offers really should be off limits for us signing.
What if the two guys coming in are of the Diekvoss mold? Would you still bring them in? I think that's more of what I was getting at as a "philosophical" question.I don't think it's acceptable to leave any of these open, but if we have to, it can be no more than one. There are going to be 800 transfers this year. I refuse to believe that we couldn't get at least 2 of them to come here. I would rather have two guys sitting out next year than leave two spots open.

agreed, but trying to gauge what people think if we don't end up with guys we really want.Bringing in two more Diekvosses is unacceptable too and shouldn't even be an option. If Mooney does that or leaves those two spots open, he should be docked a year's salary.
That 1.3 million should be distributed equally among the 2105-2016 season ticket holders.Bringing in two more Diekvosses is unacceptable too and shouldn't even be an option. If Mooney does that or leaves those two spots open, he should be docked a year's salary.
You have a higher confidence interval than I do that we're going to get 2 quality guys for the 3 open spots. I hope you're right!I'm really not worried that we'll leave 3 or even 2 spots open. won't happen.

IMHO, yes. OSCI guess this is my question though, is that how we are doing things? Just filling spots with guys who are unlikely to ever really be competitive for us? Wouldn't we be better off leaving a spot open for next year and instead of recruiting over a guy (which btw, we don't really do) and instead go after someone for 2017 who we give a crap about?
