As I write this now from NYC and as my daughter heard the 1st plane overhead 17 years ago as she attended her 1st week of classes at NYU Stern,no one should forget.

funny, every man who i served with and still communicate with and all guys who i know who served but not with me, did the exact same thing when the second jet struck...........went to our attics, basements, closets, picked up our military duds and saw what fit and what did not. the only guy who had something that fit was a huey driver who said that his flight helmet still could be worn. we were way too old and slow to go back into the fray but we would have gone in a heartbeat. luckily, we had a ton of young men and women who felt the same way and who served our nation when we needed them. lost a friend on the 101st floor, never found a cell of her and think of her each day but especially on 9-11 and go online and find her name and say a few words to her.
