And we're off and running! First up, Campbell's Colby Duggan. First-team all-CAA forward who averaged 15.7 ppg. Ok, not great, shooter at 46.1% overall and 34.0% from deep. Soph with 2 years of eligibility left. Early entrant into the portal due to McGeehan getting the boot.

Hey Moon if I bring Duggan can I have my old job back and take the Giper’s?

I’m going to be more cautious with my optimism of recruits that we are trying to get because I don’t want to get my hopes up and we won’t know how they will perform on our team, but I will say this. If we are in the mix with P5 schools for a recruit, now is the time to put our money where our mouth is with NIL. We can and should compensate the same if not more as these P5 programs for a select targeted amount of recruits that we think will make a significant impact.

what are the odds of Mooney pulling another PoY out of the portal in our lifetimes?
On the positive side, Mooney has recruited two transfer POYs. On the negative side, neither of them made the NCAA tournament in those seasons. That's hard to do! Every A10 POY since 2010 except Cline, King and Jon Axel Gudmundsson of Davidson in 2019 also made the tourney.

Yep Mooney has a way of being able to surround two superb players with two average and a sub par A10 starter and of course little depth.

Look at our bench in the year Cline was a10 POY. Nobody. We rolled out Julius and Kwesi.

Still had VCU beat in A10 but Moon refused to go to that POY with game on line. Instead choosing Dre to try & beat nfl athlete Mo Ali Cox.

Hey, Drake and UCSD I believe both slid big portions of D2 rosters over. At least we have a scouting report in person.

u can definitely find some guys. Even D'Entremont was a glue guy. Moved the ball. Played D. Probably why he didn't see the floor until more than halfway thru season. D is farther down the list of what gets u recruited & on floor. 23 u have pointed that out a lot. so finding them is just half the battle.

Didn't we have a D2 hot shot shooter on campus last year that Mooney did not offer because he was not a fit? Where did he land?

No mention of UR (or any other) interest yet, but another key player from Campbell into the portal...CAA DPOY grad transfer.

Had the same thought about Clark when I saw him go by in my feed. Agree that he looks good on the top line stats...scoring, assists, steals, even a solid number of boards for his size. Shooting percentages a bit of a concern as fan2011 points out.

He doesn't shoot a lot from deep, which is probably good based on his percentages. So I guess he's either getting to the rim with quickness or shooting a bunch of mid-ranges despite his size.

He dropped 32 on Stanford, 22 on Rutgers, 24 on Princeton, and 19 on both VCU and Vermont this season. St. Mary's held him to 12.

18 or better in 9 of 11 OOC? With bad 3 point shooting but 3rd in the nation assist rate?

Local kid...Williamsburg but played at TES. Perhaps a name to keep an eye on when he actually portals.

Its going to be super hard to have any excitement for the portal this season. In addition to Mooney going all in on the HS route, our likely lack of competitive $NIL, we no longer have a brand, and Moon is not going to sell any real top players that we are the place he needs to be. Someone tell me otherwise, but I don't think we will be very active, and that activity will be with role players.
