VCU GAME

Make all the excuses you want, but it looks like VCU is the smarter, more talented, better team. Our defense was great. Plenty of guys stepped up. Bones played with a hurt groin, and you still couldn't fully contain him or everyone else. So much for being a one-trick pony. His lateral movement showed an obvious hit while guarding Francis.

Like I said before, if we play well, we will beat any A10 team, and if we play poorly, we still can beat them.

I love how this VCU team can play different styles. They can play slow or fast, press or back off, and they don't need to force TOs to win. That's just one reason why I like Rhoades so much.

All that being said, I was fairly impressed with your defense tonight. I expected the weakness in the paint and on the boards, but you were still scrappy and guarded the 3 pt line well. Of course Bones playing hurt helped. I was also impressed with Cayo, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

And how 'bout that freshman Jamir Watkins?!

Bye!

This game, like this season, feels like such a lost opportunity. Hope I’m wrong but how many easy points can you leave on the floor if you want to win?
And how many EASY baskets can you give your opponents.
seriously though, after 30 day layoff, what can u expect. This season is a joke for all involved. It perfectly epitomizes this F’ed up coronavirus bs response.

Totally true. He actually has some balance problems because he plays with his hands too much On the perimeter. That can be fixed but it’s takes awhile because he is so used to doing it and getting away with it because of his physical gifts
That would take coaching. So....

Another year, another Moonjob!!!

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. ...

What’s the saying for fool me 10 times?

When is this going to end? We need a change, not excuses (COVID, injuries, wah-wah-wah). Great programs make it work. VCU made it work again and we failed.

It’s time to move on from Mooney. The “best recruiting class-ever” failed. It’s time to give someone else a try.

Mooney truthers can suck it. There’s nothing else you can say. I’ve given my my money, my time, my investment and there’s been no payoff. This program is like a bad slot machine that never pays off.

Answer - Give an extension.

Capital U ugly.

The only thing worse than the Spiders play was the announcers.

The good news is that if the Broad Street boys are the best team in the A10 then basically anyone can win the tournament.

Thanks Cayo for playing good basketball.

I said it Sunday, I’ll say it today. I think Burton is the one most effected by the pause.

A good coach would have really packed in the defense and made vcu shoot the ball. Way too many layups and easy fast break points. Crushed on the boards as usual too. CM just doesn't adjust, maybe he doesn't know how to. Its a shame, because this team is plenty good enough to beat this RPI team.

Dayton tried that, along with doubling Bones. The result: 50% from the field, 52% from 3 as a team.

VCU committed 16 turnovers, you had 6, and we won by 12. You're going to get swept.

You thought the same thing after the first game last year too, I'm sure.

We need two billboards. One for Huesman as well.
Classic response...Mooney sucks so bad we fire Huesmann? How about Hardt?!?!?

I’m not defending Russ here but by comparison he may be the least stinky of the rotten fish holed up in the RC. And yes, I’d be happy with 3 new faces next year

VCU forces turnovers at a 25% clip on defense. You guys did well taking care of the ball as the Rams only forced 6 TOs. I'm sure that was a point of emphasis from the Moon man.

Bones was injured, missing 6 minutes of the first half. Couldn't move laterally on defense, didn't dive for loose balls for the first time since he's been at VCU. Still pulled out a decent stat line. I don't follow the NBA much, but when NBA draft boards having him between the 2nd round and real late 1st rounder, I'll trust them over posters here and on VCURN.

I think all those media personalities dunking on the billboard crew after that Kentucky win owe some of ya'll an apology.

Bones with 20 Points; 12 rebounds; and 6 assists. Pretty good stat line for a one-trick pony playing hurt, huh @Eight Legger?

Counterpoint: it came against underachieving Richmond.

J/k the stat line speaks for itself. And he plays D. Looks like nba draft pick to me.

your beef is with 1 or 2 posters. Now if u don’t mind now let us analyze our very apparent shortcomings ourselves. Thx.

Totally agree K. Didn’t think it would be a big deal when he went down because I thought we had the talent to overcome. Obviously I was wrong. We desperately need someone who can make shots consistently.
