Transfers, take two

looks like he committed to them back in September. tweet says he has 3 years of eligibility. but he's not listed on their 2018/19 roster.
?
Didn’t he leave us May 9, 2018 to go to Gulf Coast CC? I see he committed to UTSA 19 days ago. So this year would play at Gulf Coast or sit out at UTSA I suppose...

I don’t think he was at Gulf Coast long enough to be eligible in Division 1 this season.

Ulla, hard work is expected.... results is what is measured and matters. I'm sure virtually all coaches work hard. I hope his efforts are rewarded and the free throw shooting improves.
You are responding to a post from 16 days before he left and nearly 6 months ago...

yeah, I guess it makes more sense that he's at the CC this season to play instead of sitting.

As has been discussed ad nauseum, transfers are a way of life. But as we are already seeing this year whether you are on the VT4700 side (Buck and Fore overrated and bad fits) or the other side (guys could defend and had positive impact on game) - it is apparent that we would be better with one or both - if for nothing else depth. Once again, our roster is very thin of guys Mooney will actually play in the first 38 minutes of a game.

If we have any critical transfers - this thin roster is torpedoed. Last year we all heard the Sherod rumors. 6'10 big athletic guys that can score too (Golden) don't grow on trees. The guy I am most concerned about would be Gilly. This guy can flat out ball. I am very concerned that he is looking at the situation, and saying - do I want to be the next in the K0-SDJ line, great smaller guards that never got to play on a stage. I am afraid this guy is not built like that. I know Kenny Atkinson was looking to transfer early on too. This kid wants it all.

I'd be very surprised. he's a leader and such a team-first guy. this is his 2nd family. can't see it.
I guess all bets could be off if we tailspin to a 12 win season again, but assuming we continue improving and knowing we're adding two strong pieces next year ...

I would normally say that a starter who has burned two years of eligibility and is playing 38mpg is not a transfer candidate. I think the exception is of course a coaching change, or a strong belief that he'd have equivalent or better opportunity on a bigger stage.

Both seem like possibilities but I also don't really see this as a high likelihood.

There, I've just given it the kiss of death.
