VCU is not exactly hitting the portal lottery here. I thought VCU was such a basketball "destination" that big time transfers would be beating down there doors, saying I want to play in the mecca of college basketball, "The Siegel Center".
I was led to believe it was more life altering than a 10-day trip to Europe.
Now it's only more life-altering than a 10-minute trip to Target.
Well, they have modeled it off of Costco. So the big box store vibes are all there already.

Probably not. I saw where he mentioned if he doesn't get drafted, he looks forward to impressing in the G league and giving it his best shot. He has already graduated and seems like a really good guy. He praised us and Davidson for the years we had. He has the right attitude, has confidence in himself, and definitely has some talent. I wouldn't count him out, and I wish him the best.

This disgusts me and does not bode well for college basketball imo. There has got to be a better way to get ALL college kids money rather than a chosen few. Yecch!

why all? seems very socialistic. the argument for kids getting anything at all beyond a scholarship is that they bring in money to the schools. some have a bigger hand in that. a free market says they should get more.
I don't know how you draw a clear line between legit NIL and pay for play, but it's hard to argue this isn't on the wrong side of wherever that line ends up being. The kids are just free agents available to the highest bidder with no salary cap.
