The Official Retain Coach Mooney Thread

You have to read the post correctly...

Coach Mooney's plan to hit a wall, and run out of gas late in the 2nd half in both the LaSalle and St. Bona games was very strong.
Yes, apparently a strong plan that was well executed to lose both games.

I’m still trying to figure out if Gallipoli is being facetious....will check back in 2 days with an answer.

Apparently not facetious. At least it didn’t take 2 days for me to figure it out.

Uh oh, Grace is going to be in Mooney's doghouse for going after offensive rebounds. He'll learn.

Great plan and great finish against Mason. Two recent wins against 2 of the top teams in the conference. Very good game. Well-coached team. Good character win by the team.

Coach Mooney called a masterful game against GWU. He said he was going to let his offense carry the team, and it did. However, he changed defenses and had George Washington off balance. I counted 4 different defense types- press, man, 2-3, and match-up. I may have missed one. This season is his best so far. Mooney keeps this up all through next season.

Lol. MoJo couldn't coach my kid's pee wee team. He makes Mooney look like a basketball genius. Half our conference wins are against his abortion of a team.

Your team is starting to give me a bit of pause. Why do you all of a sudden start playing reasonably well just before we play you? I think we'll be OK as long as our 3 designated defenders for Gilyard do their job.

In the GW game, ball movement was crisp, cuts were sharp, the offense was sound. The defense was switched multiple times. This team has not given up. This Coach is a supurb leader.

Yes, Gallipoli, he's a leader. More reason for Mooney to get into politics. He excels at talking very little of his plan while conveying even less of a specific goal. Plus could be some openings in VA. Won't even have to work his way up to the top. He has the perfect outward appearance of a politician. Just needs to change up his shoe color.

He is a fine representative for Richmond. If we can somehow get him to 4th in line for succession to Governor, the taxpayers might have to foot the bill for his buyout!

Aren’t these table stakes for a high level D1 coach?

This team will finish strong. Good things are ahead. This team will recover. Coach Mooney is a very good coach. He is just getting started.

I have it on good authority that Coach Mooney's contract will be extended at the end of this season. My inside sources have been very clear about this.

We should get your sources and the sources of VT/Blessed Huge Sac together who say the complete opposite . For a game of pickup basketball.

Why would they extend him, immediately after 2 losing seasons (assuming he doesn’t run the table from here on out). Regardless of being a Mooney supporter or not, the idea of extending a coach after his worst 2 years is outrageous.

Fair enough, but let's not confuse their error in judgment as justification of your nutty opinion.

Stupendous. Guess the "Next Coach" thread can be closed now. Will it be for another 10 years?
