The Biden Doctrine

Biden is definitely trying to dig himself out of the hole he is in, when he ceded defeat to the terrorists in Afghanistan. Everything he has tried has led to failure. Biden signaled to the world that the US would abandon its friends and allies. The tyrants in Russia and China see this and are taking advantage of Biden's weakness. The events in Afghanistan were a prelude to Russian incursion into Ukraine, which will be a prelude to China's invasion of Taiwan. Deterrence is not achieved by evacuation.
I assume you were just as upset when Trump abandoned Syria at the request of Turkey's leader and handed over part of Syria to Turkey and Russia in 2019. Don't recall you starting a thread when that occurred though. At least Biden got over 100,000 of our friends and allies out of Afghanistan, please correct me if I'm wrong but Trump got none out of Syria.

The Biden Doctrine on full display:
Red*Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China, by Peter Schweizer, page 9

"The Bidens received some $31 million from Chinese businessmen with very close ties to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence..."
Nice.

The ramifications of Biden Doctrine are stark and costly- once again in Afganistan:

Hundreds were summarily executed after Biden's withdrawal.

I have a lot of liberal friends that think you have the same mind set as a Trump supporter, but from a totally
opposite direction.
I think you both need a re-programming.

There definitely was nobody home in the Biden Administration during the Afgan debacle.

"Leaked notes from a White House Situation Room meeting the day before Kabul fell shed new light on just how unprepared the Biden administration was to evacuate Afghan nationals who'd helped the United States in its 20-year war against the Taliban."

Yet, despite the debacle no one was fired. Astounding....unless you consider that a firing would be an admission by the Administration that its hurried, poorly planned, poorly communicated withdrawal was a first class fiasco on the international stage.

Whether we should or should not have withdrawn is a separate issue so let's not spring that as a defense for how the mechanics of the withdrawal were planned.

The top 3 generals should have resigned in protest.

480,000 jobs added last month. More bad news for the economy.
They are not new jobs. These positions are the result of people reentering the workforce. That is why the unemployment rate increased. A lot of people quit their jobs last fall, they are coming back to work. They are running out of money and have lost their unemployment benefits.

"The United States recorded the most new jobs of any year through January, 6.6 million, giving Biden the strongest first year of job gains of any president since the government began collecting data in 1939. The unemployment rate has dropped precipitously since the worst of the pandemic, and wages rose a rapid 5.7% in the year through January."

Oh yes, bad, bad news indeed. Apparently they are new jobs.

The party full of anti-vaxxers and virus deniers, voter suppression, absurd claims of voter fraud - the same party that passes off an attempted violent overthrow of the U.S. government as "legitimate political discourse" - continues to self-destruct.

Anyone with traditional Republican values has to be horrified what the right-wing nut jobs are doing but they are too afraid to stand up to the crazies. You are in serious trouble when idiots like Cauthorn, Marjorie Taylor Green, Bobert and Gaetz are the face of your party.

Look forward to you running Biden again. His record is highly unpopular. Get out of the left wing bubble and expose yourself to the real world. Google RCP where you can see both sides of issues and decide for yourself based on a broader data set.

And find it rich that the very same folks who unnecessarily collapsed the economy, now are crowing about bringing it back from a prone position.

The economy collapsed in 2020. Orange Cheeto was president for the entire calendar year. 2021 saw unprecedented recovery.

I didn't realize there were two sides to trying to overthrow the legally-elected government of the United States. Are you saying the invasion of the Capitol and the all-out assault on the Capitol police force was justified?

Seriously, are there two sides to a "voting fraud" issue that did not exist? Or two sides to the vaccines, which have overwhelming been proven beyond doubt to reduce the spread of Covid, or reduce its effect on those unfortunate enough to become infected.

"Left-wing bubble." That's rich. But I guess if I were in one, I'd be safe from those Jewish lasers from space you Qanons warned us about.

Wood, with all due respect I don't even know what Qanons are. Where the F to you get your news? Definitely need to broaden your sources for perspective.
I think the terrorist attack on the Capitol, Cheeto's absurd claims of election fraud and the anti-vaxxer movement have been pretty widely covered by every news outlet.

I don't need more sources to decide that an attack on the Capitol to try to overturn the election of a president and the peaceful transfer of power is a bad thing.

Yeah, like you don't know what the QAnon movement is. You're a Republican, right?

Wood, I left a Fortune 500 company to work for government for 4 decades. Some say crazy. I say a labor of love. Implemented many great policies and many misguided policies for both sides of the aisle. Their decisions to make as elected representatives of the citizens. Not the purview for those of us in the "deep state", but we provided the data and our unvarnished interpretation of it. Have many friends on both sides of the aisle.

I am not a partisan. I am a realist. Always guided by the data which sometimes takes one to conclusions one did not expect to reach. Change is constant. Growth is optional.

You introduce so much loaded extraneous "stuff" into policy discussions it is hard to follow. Few weeks ago you threw a Nazi reference, today it is Qanons, and Cheeto references. Not here to defend Trump or anyone else. Follow the data. Broaden your sources bc "anyone who disagrees with me is an ignorant fool" is not a winning position for you, the Dems , the Repubs or our Republic.

Well said.

Your ad hominem attacks do nothing to advance your position.
Pot. Kettle. Black.

The attack on our Capitol and Cheeto's absurd charges of election fraud are real, serious attacks on our democracy that go unchallenged (if not endorsed) by 90% of the GOP. And those who do call those idiots out for their actions (Cheney, Kinzinger, for example) are immediately marginalized and canceled by a GOP leadership that has the gall to define a terrorist attack on the Capitol as "legitimate political discourse," which we all know does not involve bear spray and assaulting policemen trying to do their job with flag po;es, metal bars and other implements of destruction.

Yes, the Democrats have problems. Many are too far left for my centrist taste. That said, they are not trying to end democracy or suppress votes, unlike the opposing party.

And with that, I say goodbye to this thread. Best wishes to any and all.

Wood Hall, believing that all Republicans want and support Donald Trump is a
pipe dream, supported by big media to make the Republicnas look like idiots (and some
of them are) to slow down the inevitable land slide that is going to crush the Democratic Party
in November.

Yes, the Democrats have problems, serious problems, if your views represent the centrist element of the Party.

Wood, seriously, don't leave the discussion. Take nothing personally. You shouldn't either.

Differing political and policy views should be vigorously discussed with a view to bringing forth the best possible path forward. You are an able advocate for your views which neither offend nor persuade me, but more informed by hearing your take on current events.

For those of us of Jewish descent, this is a bad. Biden is making concessions to the Iranians, in the hopes of making another nuclear deal with Iran.
From Monday`s Wall Street Journal:
"On Friday Secretary of State Antony Blinken restored sanctions waivers on Iranian civilian nuclear activity that the Trump Administration had rescinded in 2020. Foreign companies working on such projects will now be exempt from economic penalties."

Happy trails...until we meet again.
Until then remember your arguments are all about Donald Trump. There was no defense of the Biden Doctrine.
There is no defense for Bidens disastrous policies. We are no longer energy independent thanks to Biden and his handlers. He has driven the price of fuel up well over one dollar per gallon in just one year. Inflation is out of control. Russia and China sense weakness and are acting on that weakness. And dont forget the Afghanistan debacle. Socialist policies have failed every time they have been tried throughout history. So if you are a leftist, all you can try to do is call Trump and his supporters names. But after just one year of Bidens and his handlers policies, those "mean tweets" don't seem so bad now.
