The Andrew White?!?

Given his lack of recruiting success while he was here, we probably made him sign a pledge requiring him to actively recruit those kinds of players for Miami...

Or coulD he take a year off to work on his game and then do the recruiting process again next spring / summer?

Let's be honest; the saga of Andrew White, father and son, will continue forever. OSC

Well, he could stay on South Beach for a few months, then walk over and enroll in time to be eligible for 2nd semester...

We just hired Jordan Burgess to work in our athletic department as a spy, so if VCU somehow ends up with White, it's a push.

Unless Andrew is simply waiting on admissions at one of these schools, this whole story is beyond absurd.

Cmon guys don't you know? He already committed to us, we are just waiting for admissions. All those other schools are really just fall back options for when admissions decides to add another all conference caliber player to our coulda shoulda woulda team.

Does Andrew return to Miller School? Perhaps, Petersburg High? Inquiring minds want to know. OSC

Andrew will be a star for Borrusia-Monchengladbach. Go Andrew!!! OSC

I think what's going on here is these schools are not "committing" to showcase Andrew etc. as Dad wants. He is delusional. He is putting a lot of coaches off with his "tell me how you'll showcase my son and best prepare him for the nba" song and dance. No talk of the team and Andrew being perhaps a missing piece etc. he just assumes Andrew is and will be the star. A lot of coaches worried about their chemistry etc if they take him-- as they should be IMHO.

Agreed. The word has been out on this one for a while.

Not this again. You all have to give up on Andrew White. This is absurd.
Why do we have to give up on the humor of Andrew White? I hear he has decided to change sports and join the Chicago White Sox.

But his father says he won't join unless they change the name to the Andrew White Sox...

We don't want him in Chicago.

LOL, Mo is right interest was shown before, but not reciprocated

Larranaga was in the mix when we hired Beilein, but obviously we went the other direction. Hard to argue that choice.

Larranaga rocks and as long as he doesn't get bitten by an infected Aedes species Zika carrying mosquito Miami will rock. Thought the videos particularly the last one with throwing a punch were teaching his players how to ward off Zika.

I think Mooney's quote in RTD yesterday was telling...

"One of the potential fears of a graduate transfer is a guy coming in looking to improve his professional basketball value."

I think his premise is right. I'd rather have secondary guys as grad transfers. Now that also assumes your team has some established go to guys but we have 2 of them in their 4th year. Kwesi fits, Bernard would have fit too. Chemistry is important when considering grad transfers. Now me I still would take White if he wanted to come here (& I'm definitely not saying he did) mainly because I feel we are 1 player short, he's very good and I would be too greedy as a fan. Bernard and/or eligibility of Stansbury would have changed that need but not to be.

btw I anticipate he ends up at VCU. If he does I just wouldn't get nor respect why Wade didn't require him to go on their overseas trip. They would have a very formidable lineup with great upside but the downside is there too.

never saw a follow up tweet or explanation by spider hoops blog after his initial one started this AW thread. guess he realized it was unfounded.
