Special teams play

We've wasted scholarships on kickers before. Needs to be a real stud if we're doing that.

Wish we could just look another direction. Clawson had a great assistant that worked magic. Those guys are out there.

Do you guys realize most teams we play don't kick it out of the endzone yet we rarely takr it past the 25/30? This isnt a player issue, it's coaching. Segers kicks today were good FCS kicks and there is no reason the coverage should still be that bad. Sorry, poor coaching job for too long.

You may be correct, but how many scholarships have we wasted on kickers? Kamin comes to mind but I can't think of any others (jury is still out on Helkowski, he's had two blocked this year). I'm actually having a hard time remembering any other kickers who came in with a scholarship, although some may have earned scholarships after they had been here and proven themselves. I've ALWAYS said that we should have a scholarship for a kicker every year. They can have a much greater impact on the outcome of the game than any third team lineman or fourth string quarterback.

How much money has UR wasted on a ST Coordinator that routinely fails to produce. Kickoff returners always catch kick with no forward momentum, have no hole to run through and kickoff defense is non-existent. Delaware scored TDs only due to miserable kickoff coverage. As short-handed as D is, UR cannot give short field to opponent after kickoff majority of the time. To state the obvious, longer field gives more opportunities for TO's and/or penalties to aid defense. Hate for anyone to lose a job but Legg must be re-assigned or let go. DR's loyalty is hurting team.
