what exactly do the Ivy's offer in an offer letter?
"We offer you ... a uniform and a locker. We choose not to give scholarships. You'll be considered for financial aid like everyone else. Other schools offer you one of 13 spots. There's no limit to how many kids we take for our team. Oh, and this offer isn't binding. It's dependent on your acceptance into the university, which we can't guarantee at this time".

Yeah, I don't know if he's at the Likely Letter stage that has been vetted by admissions yet. But presumably they've at least looked at his current academic index and judged where he'll probably fit in there, so they've got a "spot" for him provided the admission comes through.
Matt Knowling is current player there at Yale, Middlesex magic alum, had many D1 offers. I know we looked into this before and pretty sure they get a free ride one way or the other.
it's based on income. if you're low income you can get up to a full ride. if you're rich you get nothing. if you're in between you get partial.
