I have seen enough. 6-5, 4-7, 5-7. We invest in this program like a top 10 program. We should expect Top 10 results.

We will not move on because we are a liberal arts school that pretends to care about sports but if we weren't, we would. That said, Fire Durden. Enough.

Boy I hate to give up my season tickets after all these years, but I just don't know if I can sit through another year of this. Huesman (and Mooney) are nice guys but coaching, like politics, shouldn't be about personalities. It should be about results.

Amen Rick.

Gave mine up this year Rick after 40 years. Sad.

K, we know that eventually someone will come in and turn things around. But unfortunately at our age, one has to wonderful if we'll be here to see it. At some point in time realism sets in.

embarrassing loss and terrible performance...

makes you wonder if the strong play between UAlbany and Stony Brook was just a "dead cat bounce" or "head fake"...

today looked like September and Elon all over again...

coaching staff left fans with nothing but doubts...

a solid performance and win over a team we should have been able to defeat would have left fans with hope and optimism for next season...

that's gone now...Go Spiders!

From what little I saw on the stream of the game, it appeared to be the worst crowd ever for a W&M game. Even playoff games against MEAC teams drew better two days after Thanksgiving.

Sure nothing worth seeing in that weather. I guess we are all students now. Lol

The crowd today was absolutely horrendous. Go to the playoffs next year, Russ, or get out of the way and let someone breathe some life into this thing. It's time.

Anyone know what this comment by Russ is about? On surface looks like classic deflection after another losing season, 3 straight w/o playoffs, losing to jmu by a hundred in back to back years, and losing the all time series vs jmu & WM in back to back games. Hard to pick which one.

The late hit on our kicker was really blatant. The officials inexplicably picked up that flag.

Other than that, I didn't see many cheap shots.

That one stunned me. It's one thing to miss a penalty and not call it, but how can you pick up a flag after that? Larson was cheap-shot to the ground WELL after the whistle.

Coach made these comments in the roughly three minute post game Q&A...its posted on Richmond football website You Tube channel...

I thought the much more interesting comments were about our struggling offense...

Coach said something like "I'm going to take care of that"...I can only speculate what this meant, but it sounded like action of some sort might be forthcoming...

Go Spiders!

What I wouldn’t give to have Will Healy
Unfortunately a little late for that. Might get a chance to get Rocco back though. After Nova laid 55 on them today the Hens finished 5 - 7 ending Rocco's streak of never having a losing season. For some strange reason that brought a smile to my face on a day that otherwise pretty much sucked.

Too bad we didn't circle it this season.

Sounds like a few W&M players took some cheap shots after the plays were over. Unfortunately we seemed to focus too much on that and not enough on just beating the crap out of them on the field. The best way to combat a linebacker taking a cheap shot is to pound him into the ground on a sweep or counter. We just seem to lack the “physicality” to handle it on the field.

Then again, perhaps it is just our offensive philosophy to be “reckless” rather than tough. If we dump the offensive side of the coaching staff I may be able to gain some optimism for near year.

The change should have happened last year when he had the chance. Instead, Aaron Corp and several position coaches ended up taking the fall.

AGREED!!! Corp was the sacrificial lamb. Should've been Durden, since Huesman wasn't going to get rid of Huesman.
Nothing against Corp, he is a great Spider, but Mancuso is a much better QB without him than he was with him as coach. Perhaps, a year older with more starts/experience, but I believe it more than that. #12 did relapse yesterday with some baffling pass decisions.

We have so many things to “fix” in year 4 of Russ’s tenure...that doesn’t give me confidence. So we went out in the offseason and got English to transfer because we obviously didn’t feel comfortable with what we had at qb and then what we had (Mancuso) ends up winning/holding onto the job. Nothing against Joe, he definitely improved over last year and had some moments (good and bad) this year. He doesn’t have much help...that’s on the coaches. Run blocking... we don’t do it well...specifically on the interior. Fix the way we are teaching/developing there or get a new position coach. Same thing in the secondary: poor technique (not getting your head around to track the ball) and poor tackling...same as last year. Kickoff coverage: still an issue even with a kicker who has a good leg. Ball security: still an issue. Where are the “fixes” we were promised after last year? If you can tell I’m ticked off it’s because I was there yesterday and stayed through the bitter, rainy end as Tribe players and staff celebrated on our field. We weren’t prepared to play mentally or physically (3 turnovers in the 1st quarter). Just disappointing from the team’s performance, to the attendance, to the program outlook.

Preach. We seemed so flat....for @$#@#$ William and Mary! How is that even possible? I was in a foul mood from the start seeing how much more fired up the Tribe was than we were.
The sad sack act is wearing thin. This body language:
EKFlQtvXYAEevEm

is reflected in our players' attitude on the field and sidelines.

I actually think RH has a good football mind, particularly for defense. The issue always has seemed to be motivation of the players. Compare that to ML who seems clueless on the technical matters but gets a team fired up better than practically anyone. Unfortunately both seem to one dimensional to build a successful long term program.

ChopBroc, London is great at getting his players motivated and fired up. Yeah, when he was here, he had some sideline faults (time management mostly). Plus I think he has shown to be a solid recruiter, especially in 757. But I've always enjoyed his offensive play calling and the way he could mix things up and not be so predictable (the 2-pt conversion for example).. I'm so tire of Huseman/Durden predictable play calling with little imagination.

is next year the last year on coach russ contract? isnt the case most times you either get a 1 year extension , or relased , so other teams cant recruit against a program with a lame duck coach?

He's not a good face of the program with all the sad sack stuff. Very demoralizing. The team always looks flat to me even in big wins. Compare the Spiders sideline attitude to JMU, W & M and even Yale and you'll see what I mean.

In the pre-game show for the JMU game, Keyston Fuller said something that didn't seem right at the time, but I didn't think much of it until we turned the ball over a gazillion times in the ensuing two games. They were talking about his second TD at Villanova, and apparently he reached the ball over the line when he didn't need to. He said something to the effect of "I was expecting to get yelled at about that one in films, but since I scored it was like 'Naw, it's all good.'" That is results over process. If you are trying to drill ball security into your players' heads, you can't just forgive sloppy play because of a score. You have to be consistent with your messaging.
