The transfer portal is about to explode with activity. Please consider donating to the U of R NIL program to help us keep our best players and also recruit top talent from the portal. The website is www.spidersnil.com There is a button for one time contributions. None of the Money goes to U of R or the coaching staff. It all goes to support our players.

80sfan - what % of giving in your mind should now go to NiL collective?

For example someone that previously gave to U of R and athletic dept. but maybe has a fixed amount they give & not able to increase. How should they split that up now.

Also bc u say u r close to school and/or alum leadership what would U of R say the split should be, if any.

Just curious your thoughts thx

What percent you should donate to the athletic department verses NIL depends on which sports you like. If all you like is basketball, 100% of your donation should go to NIL.

I personally do about 50/50. Every dollar donated helps the program, but for the few that can get to the $10,000 level, there is a lot of cool stuff, like Zoom calls with the coach and a player a couple times a month. On these calls you get to ask questions and hear a lot of great info. You also get to know the other people who support the NIL program.

The athletic depart would probably say give most of your money to them. The Athletic department development team does not raise money for the NIL program. With that said they have been very helpful in promoting the NIL program at basketball games.
