Nick and De'Monte

Guess there will be an article in the Times Dispatch tomorrow or the next day. OSC

Where do you guys see them fitting into the rotation next year?

One of them will start, together they will play ~40 minutes a game. DB will play at the 2 and 3, NS will play mostly at the 3 and possibly play some at the 4 in a 4-guard set. We will see a decent amount of '4-guard' sets.

They need to be as good as many here think, for us to have a great year. We lost a lot of talent, despite the fact that last year's team seemed to fold at the end of the season. We have some proven players, but we'll need great contributions from some players who haven't proven themselves yet, at A-10 level.

Mooney pretty clear that DeMonte is a point guard. Will be very interesting to see how the playing time is distributed this year, and how often we play small ball as posters have indicated. Love watching the Warriors, but we did have a lot of trouble on defense and rebounding the ball too. Great year to have the overseas trip. Great to get the extra time together for all of the guys. Hope Bernard is available to go.

Understand from a good source that Bernard is finishing things up in Florida, but will be here the end of July and able to go on the trip.

Good news! Based on his latest highlight video, Malcolm looks like a player. OSC

Great article. I think we will see SDJ move back to more of a SG role this year with Khwan and Buck manning the point.

I think that is a much better role for SDJ, he is a better set shooter and his defense at the point guard position, I think was one of the problems with our defense. Having Khwan guarding the others teams ball handler should allow our defense to begin from a much stronger position.

studs, and both will earn early time. but neither is anything close to a 4 at the A10 level. they're 6'3" - 6'4".

You are probably right. I am hoping to see the SDJ, KF, DB, NS, TJC lineup though.

I think we will see that line up from time to time. That is a good change of pace line-up to run at another team. Yes, we give up height on defense but the other team will have to adjust to that smaller line-up as well. I could see us running that set in a full court/ 3/4 court press situation.

That could be the Spiders version of Golden States "death lineup". The don't run it out for huge stretches, but can be very effective for 5 minutes here and there. I'll be very interested to see how Jesse does this year, I still think he has a lot of potential and a year under his belt now.

as much as I love TJ, I don't see him as the inside defender of a 4 guard lineup like that. would need a Garrett or ANO type. but who knows. we'll see.

Yes, that line-up could leave your lone big man very succeptible to foul trouble. Perhaps, the Northeastern transfer would be a better fit. He can't score we know that, but it looks like he can pass. And if picks up a couple quick fouls, that is not the end of the world.

Really feeling good about our current roster and the guys we are recruiting. Think we are back in the dance this year and have the players to make substantial runs in the future. Roll Spide! OSC
