Richmond blasted High Point to repeat as Southern Conference champs. The Spiders are a good geographic fit to get sent to Duke or Virginia for the first round.

Two of the most physical teams we played this year. If matched up with Virginia we can only hope for a different officiating crew as the ref wearing number 40 was unable to control his verbal anger against our coach and team.

Played them pretty tough in the first game in that monsoon and led a good chunk of the game. Game got away in the 4th but I like this matchup over UVA even though I would of made the trip to charlottesville. We have won both of our rematches this year so hopefully we can get a W.

We’re a better team now than when we played them in a Feb nightgame deluge at the Brickhouse.

Playing even for 3Qs is no moral victory.

Spiders will match up with Blue Devils Sunday evening at 5 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.

UMBC is the AQ America East conference.Guaranteed.

HPU as a non AQ had soft SOS and RPI and loss to JAX.There were more qualified at large candidates.Just not from the SoCon.

"Bad losses" sunk High Point - good wins over Virginia and Duke were more than offset by losses to Jacksonville (40), St. John's (57)............................Would have been nice if SoCon had been able to get two teams in.............................

Does no good to schedule pasties in the non con if you are at the top of the socon. Between VMI, Bellarmine, Mercer, Furman, have plenty of chances to pad your resume in addition to having a bad loss. Will be hard for a SoCon team to ever get an auto bid due to SOS until lower rung teams can get up to snuff.

Penn States pretty good. All these teams are. So are we. Anyone that has a good face off guy is going to give us troubleZ. One game at a time but win two games and we’re partying in philly.

Right, I wasn't suggesting that we are going to win the thing, just saying that basically on any given day it sure seems like we could get anyone on our side. We beat ND, almost beat Maryland, didn't play our best against UVA and Duke, admittedly, but they both lost to High Point who we just smoked.

No, but lets hope when Danowski retires at Duke they look to his son as their next HC (Who is also a Duke grad) as a replacement. Not that Coach C isnt deserving of that job.

Will meet Penn State in other semifinal after their beating Loyola 21-14.

Lacrosse quarterfinals have been terrific with 3 overtime games. Only game that was predictable going into the second half was Penn State over Loyola. That game was close in the first quarter until Penn State starting pulling away in the second quarter. UVA is on long losing streak against Duke - 11 straight - and will Yale be able to top Penn State to reach the finals again? Championship weekend will be good...............

Penn State seems to be head and shoulders above everyone else but we had as good a chance as anyone to make it to the final game. We have proven we can play with anyone. A national championship is the goal for this program in the next five years, and it's very doable.

Yes how terrific to have a sport that makes the NCAA Tournament 3 times in its first 6 years, 50% of the time......................., and still building for future increased success.
