March Madness Without Fans

Random thoughts - social media hype has been extensive. Very difficult to know mortality rate as confirmed cases are about 101,000 with about 3500 deaths and about 56,000 listed as recovered. Unconfirmed case numbers are obviously unknown. Pandemic was the 1918/19 so called "Spanish flu" although much of the spread of that came from World War 1 soldiers with a big outbreak in Kansas. Deaths are estimated at 50 to 100 million. Unknown at this point if coronavirus is seasonal and will mitigate as weather warms. So many unknowns at this point future actions to combat the spread are in flux. Tokyo Marathon was limited to 200 elite runners. By that philosophy maybe NCAA Tournament should be reduced to 16 teams - what do you think? 16 teams with attendance limited to 1000 per game? That would make ticket scalping very profitable...................

There are a total of like 120 cases in the entire USA. And its not small pox for goodness sake.
61000 people died of the flu in 2018, the vast majority had underlying medical conditions. Corona virus insanity

Fans will not be allowed to attend the first two rounds of the Division III men's basketball tournament at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in an effort to limit possible exposure to the coronavirus.

What I've learned about CoVid is most people can't do simple math. Also, those who tend to yell the loudest have done the least reading up on it.

let’s not pretend this last sentence is unique to CoVid. It’s a sad commentary but probably the most accurate statement on all of society
