Lauletta to the Giants

Kyle was lined up at WR on that first drive. Actually got a shout-out on the NYG's best play, Barkley's long run.

Kyle has to hope he can follow in the footsteps of case keenum who nobody really thought could play in the league and think he is starting his 7th or 8th year this season. started with the univ of houston and then the texans as just an afterthought but has come in when starters got hurt and played well enough to keep sticking around and if one can do that, can earn nice $$$$ and get the pension which is huge. you also get cut and traded a lot but who cares, just do the very best you can when you are thrust into the lineup and get an opportunity. you don't have to be a star to be successful but you do have to hang on.

This will bring out the fight in Kyle. I look at it strictly as a defensive move by the coach. It’s the golf equivalent of laying up (not that i know squat about golf). He may think Kyle walks on water but, should Kyle flop, he (the coach) looks like a buffoon without a draft selection. Select a touted (or semi-touted QB) who beats Kyle out hands down, the fans (and owners) think he got it right. If the draftee gets trounced by Kyle, the coach has found a diamond in the rough.

KL > DJ. Wasted pick hope he winds up with a more competent organization since I doubt they’ll give him a fair shake. ( Can’t believe how bad the Giants have gotten)

I think I read where they resigned Alex Tanney already--Kyle will probably be released or traded. I think the arrest did not go to helping his cause in NY.

the giants just used a high first round draft choice on a qb, manning is the starter, Kyle will not be allowed to beat out the first round draft choice no matter how well he plays. that is just how it works in the league, the gm will not make himself out to be an idiot whether he is or is not by cutting jones. Kyle just needs to keep his chin up, work as hard as he can and to get to work very, very, early. other teams will need qbs so he just has to give those teams reasons to bring him into their shop.

A couple stupid moves on his part prevented him from playing more this year and having a chance to prove himself. I’m convinced the Giants were about to play him that following week when he was arrested. Now his chances of starting for the Giants again are slim. Tough to find a spot in the NFL as a QB who isn’t highly drafted these days. This will haunt him the rest of his life.

No way. If that is the worst mistake he ever makes, he will be fine.

It’s not a horrible mistake in terms of the offense, it’s a horrible mistake in terms of his career. As an unproven back up qb who wasn’t taken high in the draft you can’t f@ck up...ever. You have to take advantage of every opportunity to play. His horrible debut without a completion may be the only time he ever plays in the NFL regular season.

Reality is that most likely Kyle’s NFL career is over. It’ll be long odds that he sticks with the Giants. So would be dependent on another team liking Kyle more than the QBs on their roster (including any they drafted). Maybe he can bounce around for years chasing the dream but it’s a long shot.

it is not about the violation, it is about racing to be at work on time when you should be the first guy there if you are in his position.
Maybe I'm old school, but I expect every young pup to show up early and prove that he has the drive and desire to do the job.

What seems to be hurting Kyle’s chances the most? Is it not picking up the defensive reads or something else?

I think the summary was well provided above. A late round pick that is a QB should be the first one in the building and last to leave. That’s what the great ones do. He was late for practice...I think that’s telling enough.

The Giants obviously didn’t think he was the answer. He couldn’t crack the lineup on a bad team getting bad QB play.
