Got a 2019 commitment out of a strong midfielder From VA in Andrew Cook.



He has a 73 rating by Inside Lacrosse. Not that it matters much but only other recruit we have that has a rating on Inside Lacrosse is Ryan Lanchbury - who was also ranked top 50 in his class.

Its so interesting that lacrosse recruiting starts so early, you get commitments from 19's and 20's several years out, for the other bigger programs a lot earlier sometimes too.

Jack Erwin decommitted from us to walk on playing football at William and Mary. Interesting that he wouldn’t want to walk on for Richmond’s football team and/or be a two sport athlete here

Inside lacrosse gives him a 3 star 77 ranking. He does face-offs. Face offs are crucial. Hope he gives us a boost in this critical position.

It never ceases to amaze me when I'm talking lacrosse with friends that are very much into the "lacrosse circles" that
they don't bat an eye when I bring up Richmond.
I get responses like-solid program, great coach, and where did they come from? LOL

Recruiting a goalie is a little different than a field player. You look for his ability to have
extremely quick reflexes and the ability to "command" his defense. The league he plays
for may not not be the best in the area, but it's like the NFL taking a FCS player. I'm also certain
that non-team affiliated play was a good barometer .

Good analogy.Extremely insightful.Not sure of “commanders” stuff but it’s hard to find goalies with very high Save ratios.

Brendan plays at one of the better LAX programs in the Metro DC Area.At 6-2,185 and still growing for a hopeful 2020 commitment.
