heading out to go downtown to view the parade opening the 2013 HOUSTON RODEO. this is the largest rodeo in the country, lasts for about 3 weeks and is a combination of a state fair, livestock, rides, the actual rodeo each night, followed by a concert with a different star including this year, KENNY CHESNEY, ALAN JACKSON, MARY J BLIGE, BRUNO MARS, PITBULL, GEORGE STRAIT, BLAKE SHELTON, LADY ANTEBELLUM, DEMI LOVATO, MARTINA MCBRIDE and many others. we have an AIR FRANCE flight attendant coming over for a visit and she chose to see TIM MCGRAW so that is one of the concerts we will be attending. for $18, you get admission to the livestock deal which is fun just by itself and of course, the food is unbelievably good stuff. for about $30 you get the livestock, rodeo and the concert, a pretty good deal. the rodeo and concert is in RELIANT STADIUM where the texans play and is typically filled to capacity each night. we have a couple of extra bedrooms here and whenever any of you want to come for the rodeo, the final four or the super bowl, hopefully, or to drive over to see johnny football at an aggie game, yall come. we even pick up at the airport, we aim to please.
in addition, the CFO of the rodeo is a SPID and this year, over $20 million will be given out in college scholarships for texas students, a worthy cause.
