With yesterday's win, we improved our NET ranking to 207, and our record in Q4 to 7-4.
Over the past week, our ODU loss dropped into Q3, and we added a Rhode Island loss to Q3.

We've seen this script each of the last 8 yrs. Need to start mentally preparing ourselves now for what's coming in March.

Broc, have you been able to identify these highs that Hardt was referring to?
No, but I'll try to ask him next time he's on Black & Drew.

I'm going to update the sheet weekly here. Just facts and truth about our team.
Upcoming: vs Duquesne (Q3) and at Davidson (Q1). Duquesne is literally the lowest Q3 home game on the board (#160) so a loss to us would surely drop them into Q4.

Please, please, please Broc, No More Facts. We are on a roll and have the greatest class ever back together next year. Between our momentum, the hope of next year, Hardt's patience and PQ's check book, we should be able to log at least one NCAA appearance from 2011 to 2024 I believe. AND be COMPETITIVE!!

Thanks Broc. Hard visual facts that we haven't beaten anyone who is any good at all this year. And we lost to 4 teams that suck balls in doing so.

I think we though we were mediocre as a Quadrant 2 team, now we just stink.

Are you guys able to see the image OK? The NCAA publishes all the team sheets together in one big PDF and I had trouble getting it to post.

Looking at that in black and white should just really make every Spider fan upset. We literally set out and played one of the worst OOC schedules in college basketball. Zero Quadrant one games, one quadrant 2 game, 2 quadrant 3 games and then 10 quadrant 4 games.

We used to pride ourselves in scheduling a really tough OOC schedule and we went out and did the exact opposite of that this year. If that doesn't tell you all about Mooney and his mindset for testing his team and developing a program, I don't know what will. Had we won 11 games or so with that, we would have gotten some national attention like Georgetown did last year for having a good record because you played no one.

It still makes me laugh (in a depressed way), that we did that to win 10-11 games and Mooney still couldn't eek out a .500 ranking against that schedule.

This is why we aren't going .500 in conference this year.

I ran into a guy in my town that is a Georgetown grad. He saw Mooney's post game and said he looks like a guy that is in full "save my job" mode. He said Georgetown is not that good. It seems apparent to most folks that follow this at all that Mooney has run Richmond basketball into the ground. Hoping Hardt sees this and ready to move on following the season.

We need to be more competitive and even better during practices than we have been, which would be raising an already high bar indeed.

Thanks - that's a really cool site.

NCAA is putting out a spreadsheet daily that summarizes every Division 1 team's sheet. You can easily get a peer comparison. Here is the latest, filtered by Atlantic 10 and sorted by NET: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xil2uqn1ruiw1qp/NET - Games through Jan. 13, 2019.pdf?dl=0

Pretty damning. The top 5 teams are 27-0 in Q4.
St. Bonaventure and Richmond are the only teams without a win in Q1, Q2, or Q3 - but the Bonnies have a much tougher SOS.
VCU has the #2 Non-Conference SOS!

All that matters is how we look at the end of the season. This is a young team with a lot of talent. I think we are going to surprise a lot of people on how well we finish the rest of the season. Go Spiders!

Um, no. That is not all that matters. The entire season matters equally. It's not like the OOC is some preseason that doesn't count towards anything. In fact, our OOC schedule and performance pretty much has made the relevancy of the rest of the season not matter as much.

Yes sir, I believe. Mooney has been telling me this every year for several years in a row and I am starting to believe him. As soon as the season is over, wipe the slate Mr. Hardt, b/c next year we are really going to focus on rebounding, and competing against a top OOC schedule. You just wait and see, we will be on the up trend by season's end, even if we are young.

How could we not, we have the #bestclassever next year. Man, I hope the Moon man is blindsided by any unforeseen transfers, ala Khwan or ANO.

But yes, we will be young next year. I'm sure we will see improvement all next year though, competing hard, and will strive to play our best basketball at the end of the year. By the end of 2020 season, I will hardly be able to wait until the 2021 season when the best class ever are seniors. That will be the year we complete the decade long rebuild and compete for an NCAA bid.

Expected by whom?
Warren Nolan. Probably using RPI to predict wins and losses.

What do they need to be 160 in NET?

They are 3-4 Q3 6-3 Q4 and expected to go 9-2 the rest of the way.

For a predicted 155 NET.

But I am only mentioning his prediction because he also predicts that to be our only non Q4 win. Yippee!

Hmm. Their remaining games are so weak I'd think they'd struggle to move up much. For instance, we went 0-2 and our NET improved slightly this week.

Does it really matter..... the only hope we have is a tourney win and without a bye that is virtually impossible. So far I am surprised... surprised at the really slow level of improvement is.

If you had told me in 8th grade coming off our sweet 16 appearance that I would be in my 4th year of college and we wouldn't be back in the tournament once I would never have believed you.

Update through yesterday's games:

We are now at #213 in the nation, #11 in the A10. We had already fallen behind UMass, and they won today.
We are still the only team in the A10 without a Q1, Q2, or Q3 win.
We are also the only team in the A10 with at least 5 Q4 losses.

Still looking for Highs. I guess....Nate Cayo's development.

Sullivan Kulju did seven fortnite dances during the Beat A Spider segment last night, or whatever they call it. That was pretty cool.

Well, we've got our "high."

St. Louis was one of 6 teams in the A10 without a terrible loss. Now there are 5.

Not much new to report.....we had easily our best win of the year (Q2 @ SLU) and followed it with our worst conference loss (Q4 vs La Salle).
We have 5 Q4 losses. Atrocious.

GW has climbed out of Q4, just above the Q3 threshold.
Our current team sheet reads 0-1/1-2/1-6/6-5

Most likely final record: 10-21 (4-14)

If that plays out, it'll be "but NS got hurt and we were young" followed up with "next year is going to be special".

We have six Quadrant 4 losses.

VCU, Davidson, Dayton, St. Louis, Rhode Island, George Mason, St. Bonaventure, Duquesne, and St. Joe's combined...have five.
