My four play all-time Fordham highlight reel.
1. Richmond player (who shall remain nameless) starts offense with pass to wing man. OOPS! wing man has already cut to basket. Inexplicably ball bounces off ref and Fordham player (who must have transferred from the track team) scoops up ball and sprints down court for slam bam thank you sir may I have another jam.
2. Fordham player about three feet from basket inexplicably tries to pass to teammate two feet from basket. Ball is tipped away. But wait ! it is tipped right back to Fordham player who takes one step and drops it in for a thank you very much, sir, layup.
3. Fordham little guy who has been hounded unmercifully throughout the game is dribbling in front of Fordham bench. Inexplicably, since he can hardly see the basket, he throws up a prayer toward the heavens SWOOSH! prayer answered.
4. Same player, now slightly emboldened, drives frantically toward the hoop right at two much taller Richmond players. Inexplicably almost behind the basket, he throws up a ......... well, you know the rest.
Not sure, but I think all of these ordinary, run of the mill plays happened in the last five or six minutes of the game. Go figure.
