CAA football exposure/Media Day July 25 9:00 am

Haha. Good one. Sorry to interupt your regularly scheduled programming. And yes the CAA is pretty much a soup sandwich right now.

Can you guys take this over to Snapchat?

Back to the subject at hand, just read that the CUSA and Patriot have struck a deal for broadcasting thru Twitter. Cool idea.

Still nothing from Parham and Patterson. Season kicks in 9 days.

I'm sorry, Twitter? We will have to get a Twitter account just to watch football? On the phone? With respect to you millennias, that's about as dumb as it gets. I want to watch football on a 50" screen, not a 4" one. If I sound old, that's because I am.

Ya the NFL did the Thursday night thing on Twitter and it was terrible. If I'm watching a game it's gotta be in person or on TV.

You don’t have to watch on a phone. Works on tablets, computers, and connected devices like Apple TV/Amazon Fire TV/Xbox One.

Must say I’d rather have that than a regional CSN that I can’t get here.

4 inches is better than no inches. I think that's how the saying goes.

I did like the regional CSN since I'm here in Richmond. What I didn't like is that they carried mostly home games instead of away games. The home games I didn't need TV to watch.

We will see how well I can connect a streaming laptop to a TV. And what resolution I get...

My problem with Comcast was that two or three times a year the games were inexplicably blacked out and I'm 300 miles from Richmond. That may have been more of a DirectTV issue than Comcast, honestly. Glad I now have Dish.
As far as streaming to your tv, the cheapest way is through your phone. If you are on Android, you'll need a $35 Chromecast dongle. If you're on Apple, you'll cast through AirPlay to an Apple TV. You can also do it through a Roku, or Amazon Firestick, PlayStation, or XBox. Welcome to millennial media.
Does anyone know if SpiderTV will still be broadcasting most games? After my blackout issues, I just bought a subscription and cast those games through my laptop's Chrome browser to my Chromecast dongle because SpiderTV didn't work on mobile (that's something that needs to be addressed). Will I still be able to do this? I'd rather give the money to the school to support SpiderTV and I know I can get it to work.

RICHMOND, Va. (August 18, 2017) – The Colonial Athletic Association has signed an agreement with CBS Sports Digital to stream a “Game of the Week” for football and men’s basketball throughout the next two seasons. Games will be available for free on College Sports Live online (collegesportslive.com) and on the College Sports Live mobile app.

College Sports Live is a streaming service from CBS Sports Digital offering subscribers the ability to watch and listen to more than 10,000 live events from top universities and conferences across the country. It is the most comprehensive collegiate sports streaming service available covering more than 30 sports.

“The CAA is extremely pleased to be able to enter into this partnership with CBS Sports Digital,” CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio said. “We have seen a dramatic shift in the way our fans are watching CAA sporting events. Through this relationship, we hope to continue delivering to our fan base top quality digital programming that will highlight the competitiveness of our Conference as well as the talent of our student-athletes.”

"The addition of the CAA Football and Men's Basketball Game of the Week to College Sports Live, as well as conference championships in several other sports, is a win for college sports fans," said Eric Foote, Vice President and General Manager of CBS Interactive Advanced Media. "We're excited to work with the CAA to deliver these great match-ups right to fans, across multiple devices."

The CAA Football “Game of the Week” schedule includes 12 contests and features 11 league match-ups. The slate kicks off on Thursday, August 31 with the Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket between long-time rivals Maine and New Hampshire. The schedule is also highlighted by a Saturday, October 14 showdown between Villanova and reigning FCS National Champion James Madison, who are both ranked in the Top 10 nationally in preseason polls. All 12 CAA Football members will appear at least once in the package.

Scott Sudikoff will handle the play-by-play duties for all 12 football telecasts, while former NFL player Brandon Noble will work as the analyst. Noble, a collegiate standout at Penn State, played four seasons (1999-2002) at defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys and one for the Washington Redskins (2003).

In addition to the football coverage, College Sports Live will feature a “Game of the Week” package in CAA men’s basketball that includes 12-15 contests. College Sports Live will also offer coverage of conference championship action in women’s basketball, baseball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball and volleyball.

At College Sports Live online (collegesportslive.com), I see I can test my setup tonight by watching a Women's Soccer Doubleheader of BYU/Penn St & Stanford/Marquette starting at 7pm.

Watching on a computer, table, or phone requires me to wear reading glasses plus I can't just get up and move around. I don't have a smart tv so I can't connect there. Maybe when you mellinials get old and have to wear reading glasses you will understand.

Btw, I think you 4" guys are just trying to make yourself feel better (Mo)

Albany added 5 games on ESPN3. Anyone know if ours is one of them?

With 5 minutes help from any Millennial, you can learn to cast the game from your phone or computer to your TV, assuming you have made the switch to digital TV. If you don't want to open a Twitter account (they are fairly expensive), I can get you the user name and login information from my eight-year-old daughter, who doesn't yet watch football.

And I still say "How do I get twitter with my rabbit ears?"

So we go from basically being televised several times a year, having home games on CSN, NBCSN or ASN to twitter? Very underwhelming...I cant believe I am saying this after our departure from the CAA but I miss Tom Yeager. At least he elevated the league despite several perceived death blows, both in football and basketball. I don't know what the hell this other guy is doing.

All of the rest of the games available exclusively on The Ocho.

It's coming. Just be patient. League crapped the bed, but we didn't.
It seems the league crapped the bed, the chair, the car, the sofa, and everywhere else they could crap. Hoping we're at least going to have a number of games on ESPN3 like Albany. Still streaming on the internet, but easier to get on your big screen than twitter or casting from your phone.......just waiting around, trying to be patient.....

SpiderTV deal on ESPN3? Or something along those lines? FB live like BB last year?

I knew to check your board because it would be you or FRS talking sh!t like you know something about the situation. 4 of the 6 are carryovers from last year. The other two are suspended for 1 & 2 games which do not align with NCAA punishment for recreational drug use. I swing between laughing at you and feeling sorry for you based on your forum persona. Didn't UoR have a drug dealer on the team not long ago? I am happy that MH suspended them. No player is bigger than the team. Best of luck to the UoR football this year.
Yes we did have a "drug dealer" on our team, unlike some places he was immediately dismissed from school, not suspended for a few games. State schools seem to have a tolerance for mis-behavior. AKA steal a cell phone and miss half a game. Don't know why you are coming to our board to "educate" us on JMU football team's issues. Laugh all you want but you this is not much of a defense of the team and not much for an overwhelming defense of the issue. Whether this was drug related or not the suspensions speak for themselves. Can't follow the, "hey it was not drug related (maybe) so it's not bad; boy are you dumb" approach you are selling. Maybe you should sell in on your own board where the true believers reside. By the way, does your mother approve of your language or did she teach you the "s" word?

I think we'll see soon that we are on top of things, compared to most other CAA schools.

This is also some additional validation for our move of the rest of sports to the A10 years ago.

Thanks for the offer, but I might be afraid your 8 year old daughter would accidentally get one of my porn feeds (yes I do know how to do that). I am surprised that you have a 8 year old daughter, I thought that you were older...

A, you will find out one day that no matter how old you are, part of your brain will always be 18 years old. Ask any old guy....

Hahaha. Simply replying to one of your fans with a direct reply to statement that he spoke as near fact. Someone who likes to come on our board and others talking smack (is that easier on your sensitive ears) far too often in broad terms about all of JMU. Kids make mistakes and I am glad MH held him accountable...Ick state schools...Hahaha. Another perfect example of the type of UoR fan other fan bases dislike. Not all UoR fans. Just the pretentious ones that think that if you went to a state school you might forget to breath. Have a great evening.

You're the type of JIMU fan that I don't like. Of course, that doesn't make you special because I don't like any of them.
