Great stuff here. Super recruit and from everything I have read seems like he will be a great member of the student body as well. Hope Sherod follows and then let's grab a couple TJ and Terry Allen clones. Very exciting news for the Spiders program! Great job staff!!

It's great to see the tide turning in the local college bball scene. Thank you CM and staff for the great efforts on getting these two fine young men and talented players to come to the RC. Also thank you Texas for the moving van service from Broad Street to Austin. Can't help but feel the balance of power is being restored as it should be in the 804. Look out Cville you could be next!
The more I watch his video and read coaches comments, the more excited I am about De'Monte. He is a great and willing passer. Great athlete and attitude and will make his teammates better. As much offensive potential as he has, I really love his court vision, he is good at setting up the pass and getting it to guys in stride and in position to make a shot.

If there is video on this game, including the "ending," I would love to see the "block" that started things. Sounds like we have an excellent distributor and also a strong defender, in DB. Am already looking forward to seeing him on the RC court.

Well, there is a video of the incident and I'm sure it will pop up soon. But the article states that De'monte was punched in the face and bit in the arm, hard enough to draw blood. And the coach from Hermitage publically stated that his kid was "in the wrong".
You can't being getting into fights on the court, but if someone bites you hard enough to break that skin, in my mind, that warrants fighting back. Apparently, the police are looking at the video to see if charges will be filed. I would imagine those charges would be against the "biter".

that is the prob with placing "automatic" suspensions for a particular event without considering the circumstances in each case. understand what they are trying to accomplish but it is just not fair or the right thing to do. the high school league should reconsider automatic if they truly wish to be in a leadership role.
Spinner, your talking about public high schools and their zero tolerance policies. Context and circumstances are meaningless with those type of policies.
I saw a few tweets saying Henrico decided to sit him last night because the incident is still being investigated. Guess the VHSL ruling is being appealed or something, and they didn't want to risk forfeiting the game if he played and they ultimately lost the appeal.

VHSL has an automatic 2-game suspension for fighting. Henrico's policy is to add a third game to the suspension, but they've decided not to do so. Carr says the Henrico folks "feel strongly he didn't fight, that he got attacked," so they're not applying their fighting penalty.
