On the road after a horrific performance. St.Louis has played Memphis and Auburn. They had a recent covid pause like St.Joe. looking at Mooney history after a big loss usual brings another loss. I like to bring up these guys rebound well. I say we lose by 8 and show we competed. Versus getting blown out by St.Joe.

Can’t get up for good teams. Can’t get up for any important OOC games. Can’t close out games we’re winning. Can’t get up for lousy teams. Can’t get up for the conference opener on our home court. I’ll go out on a limb and suggest that we might just come out sluggish at SLU and finish the same way.

If only there were an identifiable trend here.

St. Louis plays bully ball, which is a terrible matchup for Mooney ball. As per usual, if we shoot lights out, we’ll win. Otherwise, I’m not optimistic.

every game this season if the opponent has an even semi-decent big that plays with any semblance of physicality they totally have their way with us. We make random tall dudes look like they are ready to make the jump to the NBA with regularity. It is appalling to witness.

We fold like a cheap suit when we get hit in the mouth. Been that way since before the Morris twins incident.

We’re now one of only two A-10 games still on for Sunday….Fordham-UMass is the other.

Sounds like this team needs Viagra to get up for anything.

If we win tomorrow, the game likely drops to a Quad 2.

So losing a Quad 1 is better than winning a Quad 2? Right? ;)

It's already easy to see what will happen... This year, we'll end playing most or all of our games and losing several we shouldn't. Meanwhile, VCU will have five or six games against good teams cancelled, they'll beat all the bad ones and end up getting a tourney bid.

Is the A10 not planning on making games up?

How many regular season byes are there? 2 or 3?

Not even excited and I hate it.
I’ll be cheering for a win today! I hate SLU so that’s an added dynamic. Curious to see if Gilyard shows up today given game is closer to home for him.

I think both GG and Burton break 25 and spiders win by 4 with 14 lead changes.

A few strange stats from SLU offensively

Well two not so strange
6th in the Nation at FT attempts per FG attempt
20th in the nation at getting OR

two that are strange
335th at not getting there shot blocked (not sure we can take advantage of this)
306th at not getting the ball stolen (we should take advantage of this)

Wow slu in a real bad streak last 5 games. Only 2 wins and one is vs putrid Boston College. Bounce back spot for Spiders. Mooney film session today was displaying posts on spidernation to the team. Take the money line.
Concur. We take this one and are back to unicorns ans rainbows by dinner.

Just to give some variety. How about a late game streak by Sherod?

I wouldn't really be surprised if we managed to go on the road and knock these guys off today and I suspect we will win at least one more game that we "should lose" this season because the team does have it in them to beat anyone the problem is you don't know who is showing up game to game which yields stinkers such as the St. Joe's game (and dozens more before it).

So unfortunately even stealing some big wins down the road they will be negated by the latest game we "should win" of which you can bet your house that there will be more of those coming.

Probably right but let’s hope they have more than that and we salvage the season. Starting today!
