At St Louis

No winning plays being made at the end. Unacceptable for such a seasoned team. Foul a 3 point shooter, throw a pass into the stands.

Don't forget the telegraphed cross court pass to SLU.

But wait - Mooney is only 3 wins from 300 victories - see it's right here on the talking points - the winningest coach in Richmond history (talking points do not talk about percentage of wins or NCAA appearances)

How many times has Wilson fouled a three point shooter? Something he should ride the bench until he figures it out. We are in a team develop season so play the bench.

every starter played over 30 minutes. Our supposed strong bench barely got 30 total. Typical Mooney

Weak mentally, dumb plays down the stretch. Bad foul by Wilson. No shooting guard, maybe give Dji a chance for 20 minutes a game now?

And good lord, Goldens interior defense is absolutely non existent.
Non existence, even watching the PG score lay ups.

VT4700, again, you need to tell Mooney and his players that conference games are important. This should be done ASAP, before they make you look really foolish.

I know, I know there are plenty of games left. You said 15-3 in conference would get the at-large bid. Only have to go 15-1 the rest of the way to make that happen. What do you think the odds are?

4700 smelled this poop coming and opted off the board.

plenty of time! plenty of time!!!

We are just barely into January, plenty of time!

Year after year, chances of an at large are toilet flushed long before the meat of conference schedule. Every friggin year.

seriously. We don't even get the empty thrill of watching the bracket reveal on Selection Sunday as a bubble team to see if we got in because we are already eliminated from contention weeks or months beforehand.

Only got to watch spurts of the game but boxscore says really was an even contest except for bench points siding with St Louis.

Grace has become more of a player than I ever imagined but can Mooney slow him down on shooting those 3s unless late in the clock. Does have a nice stroke but he's 2-15 from deep last 5 games. Plus in 25 total minutes last 2 games he's attempted 15 shots. Don't sometimes coaches tell their players to let certain players on the other team beat them.

We have to miss more shots within three feet of the basket of any team in America. Pathetic. And we gear our entire offense to shooting threes, even at the expense of passing up wide open easier shots. This whole thing is disgraceful at this point.

Not just today but in lots of games we overpass and give up wide open or make able shots for another pass or two or three. If we have a high pct shot…just take it when it’s there. Not talking end of game when 3’s might be needed.

The Spiders did the improbable and out rebounded SLU. One would have to guess that was the game plan, unfortunately the plan didn’t lead to a win. Has there ever been a Richmond A10 game with 3 players with double digit rebounds?

Can't remember one. The rebounding actually kept us in the game.

My observations:
1. Effort was way better than against Joes
2. Effort is not enough, gotta make some shots
3. Grant had an overinflated sense of how great his passing skills are today and it’s not the first time
4. I like nick but has no business going inside the arc on a dribble drive, the lack of speed makes him way too easy to defend
5. Dji should get a start and 20+ mins just because at this point

And every year Richmond must win the conference tournament to get in the NCAA Tournament. I've said before, if we have to win the conference tournament, then let's play in a league where we have a realistic chance to win the tournament, like every year. I'd rather be in the CAA and dance every other year than almost never in the A10.

Or get a new coach and AD....

JOC asking about the development of Burton's game instead of asking " Hey Chris, what the hell is going on with your most experienced team in college history and why are you only 9-6?" 🙄

I like him too, but acknowledge the 5,000-pound elephant in the room, John. The big picture story here is clearly one of gross underachievement so far. But no one ever asks Mooney anything remotely challenging.
